Registered Dental Assistant

Overview

Join our dynamic orthodontic team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and support the smooth operation of our busy orthodontic practice. We are currently offering one day a week (Mondays) with potential to expand to multiple days per week. In this vital role, you will assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Duties

  • Assist the orthodontist with chairside procedures including taking orthodontic records, placing and removing orthodontic wires, bonding attachments for Invisalign, scanning with itero and ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols
  • Take dental x-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, adhering to all safety standards and radiation guidelines
  • Manage patient records using Ortho2 software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
  • Support administrative tasks such as patient management software updates, appointment scheduling, and coordinating with the orthodontic receptionists to optimize patient flow

Qualifications

  • Valid registration as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure or certification recognized in the region
  • Proven experience working in an orthodontic clinic environment with proficiency in orthodontic procedures
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols
  • Familiarity with EMR systems like Ortho2
  • Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards
  • Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and infection prevention management
  • Excellent communication skills for patient care coordination and collaboration with team members
  • Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices along with medical imaging expertise
