Relief Milker

The Role

• Milk approximately 200 cows through a 16:32 parlour equipped with ADF, maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and milk hygiene.
• Milking times are approximately 5:30–9:00am and 4:00–7:00pm.
• Monitor the health and welfare of the herd, identifying and picking out cows requiring further attention.
• Use our heat detection system to identify bulling cows and select cows for AI
• Identify and manage mastitis cases, including the responsible use of antibiotics and veterinary medicines.

The Person

• Be a positive and easy-going person, with a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Share our passion and care for cows
• Have the confidence to ask for support
• Reliable and punctual
• Work to a high standard whilst maintaining our cleanliness levels
• Be confident milking by yourself
• Experience preferred, however we are willing to train the right person with a commitment to learn.
• UK Driving license

The Package

• Self-employed, up to 6 milkings per week (flexibility on number of milkings, to be discussed and agreed)
• Required to be able to help at least one weekend a month for a minimum of 2 milkings.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
