Residential Designer / Residential Architectural Designer

Wise Design Builders is a growing design-build remodeling company seeking a talented Residential Designer with an architectural focus to join our collaborative team. If you're passionate about transforming homes, working directly with homeowners, and bringing creative design solutions to life, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, you'll help homeowners reimagine their living spaces through thoughtful design, innovative problem-solving, and exceptional client service. Our projects range from kitchen and bath remodels to home additions, lower-level renovations, custom master suites, and new home construction.

What You'll Do

Design & Planning

• Develop creative residential design concepts, floor plans, elevations, and construction drawings.
• Create functional, aesthetically pleasing spaces that align with clients' lifestyles, goals, and budgets.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

Client Collaboration

• Meet with homeowners to understand their vision and guide them through the design process.
• Present design concepts, renderings, and material selections.
• Incorporate client feedback and provide expert recommendations throughout project development.

Project Documentation

• Prepare detailed construction documents, specifications, schedules, and estimating information.
• Ensure designs comply with local building codes, zoning requirements, and industry standards.

Visualization & Technology

• Create 2D and 3D models, renderings, and presentations using design software such as Chief Architect, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar platforms.

Team Coordination

• Collaborate with design team, project managers, trade partners, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct site visits, field measurements, and project reviews as needed.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Residential Design, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in residential design, architecture, remodeling, or custom home design.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, building codes, and design principles.
• Proficiency with Chief Architect, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar design software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a design-build or remodeling environment.
• Knowledge of estimating software and project management platforms such as CoConstruct, Builder Trend or Job Tread.
• Experience coordinating with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing professionals.
• Passion for creating exceptional client experiences.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
