About the role

We're hiring a School-Assigned Lead Psychologist for a dedicated charter school account in San Francisco for the 2026–27 school year. You'll be this school's psychologist, the clinician they count on all year:

• Approximately 20–25 psychoeducational assessments across the school year, with optional academic assessment add-ons (each adds to your project pay) if that's in your wheelhouse
• The triennial list is already known. We share it upfront, so you can map out your entire year from day one
• You'll work alongside our assigned BCBA for the campus, together giving the school complete, coordinated support
• A Support clinician partners with you virtually on records gathering and report writing: you lead, but you're never solo
• You'll present findings at IEP meetings in clear, family-friendly language

Anticipated start: September 8, 2026, with the possibility of starting a week or two earlier depending on the school's final assessment calendar.

Your schedule is genuinely yours

There are no fixed on-site hours. You schedule assessment days directly with the school at mutually agreeable times and structure your own calendar around the assessment schedule. We're a remote-first company; beyond your on-site assessment days, we just ask for some availability during school hours.

This role was designed for school psychologists who love the work but want more control over their week: clinicians building a private practice, balancing family life, or looking for a path to school-based impact beyond the traditional full-time campus schedule. Real hybrid, flexible school psychology roles are rare and this is one.

Compensation — how it actually adds up

• Clinical hourly rate: $50–72/hour (California), based on experience
• Project pay: a fixed rate for every completed assessment on top of your hourly. A full year on this account is roughly $18,000–$33,000 in direct pay depending on experience, final caseload, and add-ons — part-time, self-scheduled work; exact rates confirmed in your offer.
• School-Assigned Lead bonus: an additional $2,000 for the year, earned through client-satisfaction and performance metrics
• Profit share: Thrive shares 20% of company profits with the team, committed annually, every employee has a stake
• Travel time paid at 50% of hourly; expenses covered beyond a 30-mile one-way commute

What we're looking for

• Active PPS Credential in School Psychology (California CTC) — required
• Master's-level degree in School Psychology or a closely related field
• Experience leading psychoeducational assessments (academic and ERMHS a plus) and presenting at IEP meetings (virtually)
• Ability to commit to this school for the full 2026–27 year and reach the San Francisco campus for days you schedule testing
• Self-directed, organized, and a warm communicator
