Performs wound care, applies bandages/dressings. Inserts/maintains urinary catheters as directed. Performs initial management of emergency conditions such as bleeding control. Supports unit/hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends mandatory in-services and meets unit/hospital system educational standards. Major Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>
Documents information/procedures and promptly communicates observations, concerns and needs of the patient to the licensed clinician.</li><li>
Under the direction of a licensed clinician, prepares and administers medications. May operate specialized ventilators in critical and non critical care venues. Assists physician with bedside or other procedures as applicable to facility.</li><li>

Notifies department RN or physician immediately of changes in patient condition.</li><li>

Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, be highly motivated, possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must possess MA certification as an EMT-Basic while EMT-Paramedic is preferred. It is required to obtain and maintain EMT-Paramedic status within three years of appointment. It is preferred that applicants have a minimum of two years of experience working in a 911 Service. Fire Fighter I/II certificate is desirable. Must reside within twenty (20) miles of the town limits within one year of appointment.
