This position supports the ground transport of our premature neonates up to 18-year-olds. As a member of our fast-paced, small team, you will build amazing relationships with our team of MDs, ARNPs, and RTs.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU Transport Team - PRN / Per Diem / As Needed
The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
What you will do in this role:<ul><li>
You will perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.</li><li>
You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.</li><li>
You will assist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.</li><li>
You will monitor patient for therapeutic response. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.</li><li>
You will assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.</li><li>

This CNSC, NICU participates in the development of evidence based care delivery systems and clinical practice programs. This CNSC, NICU works with physicians in order to establish a collegial and interdisciplinary patient care environment. The CNSC, NICU is an independent consultant on clinical care issues for patients, families, staff, physicians and other departments. The CNSC, NICU will be responsible for facilitating and managing patient care services division special projects as assigned. The Community CNS shall be responsible for directing the clinical nursing practice in the NICU, Coordinating and assessing critical care education development and clinical competency of the nursing staff in the NICU; and ensuring continued competency through educational programs for both the newly hired and experienced nursing staff. The CNS will be consulting with staff on complex neonatal critical care nursing issues and will have oversight of comprehensive patient and/or primary caretaker education activities and ensuring implementation of a coordinated and effective discharge planning program. Compensation Structure
NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1&ndash;5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

Shifts are typically 10&ndash;12 hours overnight and may begin around 8:00PM, 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM, depending on family preference. (12 hour shifts are 8pm-8am).This role is ideal for nurses seeking flexible, meaningful work with families- without the demands of bedside hospital care.Responsibilities - we are non-medical and only offer basic infant caregiving support.<ul><li>Provide attentive overnight care for newborns</li><li>Feeding support (breastfeeding support or bottle feeding, as directed by family)</li><li>Diaper changes, soothing, swaddling, and comforting</li><li>Foster healthy sleep habits and safe sleep practices</li><li>Wash and sanitize bottles and pump parts</li><li>Maintain detailed nightly logs of feedings, diaper changes, and baby&rsquo;s temperament</li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally with parents</li><li>Remain awake and alert for the duration of the shift (please note nurses are allowed to take a light nap for 45 minutes if your shift is 11-12 hours)</li><li>Fold baby/kid laundry</li><li>Provide newborn education to new parents if parents have questions</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)</li><li>Experience in Labor &amp; Delivery, Postpartum/Mother-Baby, NICU, or Pediatrics strongly preferred</li><li>Current CPR and BLS certifications (NRP, PALS, or other certifications a plus)</li><li>Reliable transportation</li><li>Professional, calm, and compassionate bedside manner</li><li>Comfortable working independently overnight in a family&rsquo;s home</li><li>Minimum 4 shift requirement per month</li><li>Have a strong love for Mother/Baby postpartum care!</li></ul>Schedule &amp; Pay<ul><li>Overnight shifts (10&ndash;12 hours)</li><li>Flexible scheduling based on your availability with a 4 shift minimum requirement per month</li><li>Competitive hourly pay</li><li>High nurse retention and supportive leadership team</li></ul>Why Work With Happy Baby Night Nurses?<ul><li>RN-only, high-trust care model</li><li>Flexible schedules that work around your life</li><li>Meaningful, one-on-one care with families</li><li>Supportive, organized agency with clear protocols</li><li>Opportunity to be part of a growing, respected brand</li></ul>How to ApplyApply directly through Indeed.
