Your role will include:

Delivering evidence-based therapy by providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.</li><li>
Managing ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placement, initiating and adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.</li><li>
Supporting patients and the care team by educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.</li><li>
Maintaining equipment and safety by setting up, operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.</li></ul>

Required: 
 Associate or Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree from an accredited school for Respiratory Therapy 
Currently licensed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)in the state(s) of practice, in accordance with law and regulation.
 
Transition from a CRT toa Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state(s) of practice, in accordance with law and regulation. (12 months CRT to RRT transition) 
Credentialed active member of the NBRC. 
Basic Life Support (BLS) (within 30 days of hire) 
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (withing 6 months)

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
The Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs all modes of respiratory therapy in patients of varying ages and medical conditions. Therapy is performed in accordance with the standards of practice as defined by HCA Houston Medical Center. The Respiratory Care Practitioner works independently, utilizing a variety of sophisticated instruments and technology and demonstrates good judgment and decision making in the treatment and handling of the individual patient. The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
What you will do in this role:<ul><li>
You will perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.</li><li>
You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.</li><li>
You will assist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.</li><li>
You will monitor patient for therapeutic response. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.</li><li>
You will assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.</li><li>
You will respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.</li></ul><h6 class="jobSectionHeader">
What qualifications you will need:</h6><ul><li>
Associate Degree or Certificate Program in Respiratory</li><li>
NBRC and State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)</li><li>
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date</li><li>
NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date</li></ul>

<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Position Summary</h3>

&quot;Navitas Healthcare, LLC&quot; is a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a short-term acute care hospital on the night shift. First-time travelers are welcome. The RRT will provide advanced respiratory care across ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, and Emergency Department settings, supporting critically ill patients with complex respiratory needs.

<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul><li>Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and critically ill patients</li>
<li>Perform airway management including intubation, extubation, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene</li>
<li>Administer respiratory medications and therapies (e.g., Albuterol, Atrovent, Pulmicort, Mucomyst, Racemic Epinephrine, Spiriva, Theophylline)</li>
<li>Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation systems including SIMV, BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and trach collar support</li>
<li>Perform ABG collection via arterial puncture and interpret results</li>
<li>Provide chest physiotherapy and assist with patient transport across departments and emergency transfers</li>
<li>Support high-acuity cases including ARDS, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, COVID-19, and cystic fibrosis</li>
<li>Assist in emergency situations including high-risk deliveries and near-drowning cases</li>
<li>Utilize hospital equipment and electronic health records (Cerner) for documentation</li>
<li>Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Schedule &amp; Requirements</h3>
