Senior Communications Manager

Enormous Creative is seeking a communications professional to support a growing portfolio of public sector, municipal, education, nonprofit, and community-focused clients throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond.

This role is ideal for someone with strong writing and organizational skills who enjoys balancing day-to-day communications execution with broader messaging, stakeholder engagement, and public-facing initiatives.

The position will involve a mix of strategic communications support, content development, media coordination, social media management, email communications, and day-to-day communications support for ongoing campaigns and community initiatives. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, organized, and comfortable working in fast-moving environments where priorities can shift quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day communications activities across multiple client accounts
  • Draft and schedule social media content across platforms
  • Assist with development and distribution of email newsletters and community communications
  • Draft press releases, statements, website updates, speeches, talking points, and related materials
  • Coordinate media outreach and maintain press relationships and press lists
  • Support content calendars, campaign planning, and communications workflows
  • Participate in strategic communications discussions and stakeholder engagement efforts
  • Assist with crisis communications and rapid response messaging as needed
  • Attend meetings, public events, and occasional evening engagements throughout the region
  • Coordinate with creative and production teams on integrated communications efforts
  • Provide general administrative and organizational support for communications projects

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, political campaigns, or related fields
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience managing social media accounts in a professional setting
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and communications tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfort interacting with leadership teams, elected officials, boards, and community stakeholders
  • Familiarity with local government, education, nonprofit, or political environments is a plus

Bonus Skills

  • Photography and/or video production experience
  • Basic graphic design or content creation capabilities
  • Experience with campaign communications or advocacy initiatives
  • On-camera, interviewing, or media-facing experience
  • Familiarity with WordPress or website content management systems

Location / Structure

This role is based primarily from our Peekskill office, with additional work taking place at client sites, meetings, events, and other engagements throughout the nearby region.

Compensation

Salary range: $65,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience.
