FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: This position supports the Director of Operations of RJS Corporation. The Team Lead’s primary responsibility is to work alongside and oversee the team members assigned to the saw, weld, and machine shop areas. The duties include training, prioritizing, assigning and coordinating tasks for completion by team members of those areas to meet or exceed customer expectations.

The individual in this role must work collaboratively with the Director of Operations, and other production team leads. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. to 02:30p.m., with additional hours scheduled as needed to fulfill job requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Train and instruct team members on proper machining procedures and ensure that each team member follows these procedures and achieves quality requirements;

· Provide each team member with daily goals and responsibilities;

· Follow all applicable quality and inspection procedures.

· Ensure that team members clean their work areas after work daily to maintain a clean and safe working environment;

· Report the materials needed to keep the team working daily.

· Work with the Operations team to ensure times and quantities are accurately recorded on timecards in lieu of the ERP system until implemented.

· Lead by example through professionalism, positive attitude, accountability and strong work ethic

· Instructs and evaluates employees with emphasis on correct safety, quality, delivery, cost, and company policies.

Mandatory Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

· A minimum of five (5) years as machinist

· Mill and Lathe experience

· Knowledge of band saws and welding preferred but not required.

· Previous leadership role in a manufacturing facility

· CAM software experience (Mastercam preferred)

· Ability to read drawing from blueprints or CAD.

· Solid understanding of machining fundamentals (speeds, feeds, and coolants)

· Retrieve data and create programs, as required, to maximize machine utilization

· Proficient understanding of G&M Code programming

· Knowledge of setup and use of all basic measuring equipment and gauges

· Perform own setups

· Ability to hold team members accountable for their performance

· Able to work in a fast-paced environment, handling simultaneously occurring tasks

· Computer skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to record time and quantities in an ERP system once implemented

Preferred Qualifications:

· High School diploma or equivalent

· One (1) or more years in a lead or similar position managing others in a production manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, to feel or reach with hands and arms, to bend and lift, and to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
