Overview

Rocky Mountain Protective Services (RMPS) is hiring Temporary Unarmed Security Officers for a three-day assignment in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

As an RMPS Security Officer, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment through proactive patrols, access control, incident reporting, and exceptional customer service.

We are seeking individuals who demonstrate integrity, professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

High-performing officers may be considered for future temporary, part-time, or full-time opportunities with Rocky Mountain Protective Services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and guests.
• Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols.
• Monitor and control access to assigned areas.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security concerns.
• Respond professionally to incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations.
• Complete accurate Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, and shift logs.
• Monitor CCTV and other security systems when assigned.
• Enforce site policies and security procedures.
• Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining a professional security presence.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and emergency responders.
• Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Availability to work the full three-day assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in security, military service, law enforcement, corrections, loss prevention, public safety, or customer service.
• CPR, AED, or First Aid certification is preferred but not required.
