The Vessel Design Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and development of pressure vessels, storage tanks, separators, heat exchangers, and other static equipment used in the oil & gas, petrochemical and industrial sectors. The role involves preparing engineering calculations, design drawings, material specifications and ensuring compliance with international codes and standards such as ASME, API and TEMA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design pressure vessels, storage tanks, separators, scrubbers, heat exchangers, and other static equipment in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Prepare design calculations including vessel thickness, nozzle reinforcement, saddle/support design, wind and seismic loading calculations.
- Perform mechanical design as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2, API 650, API 620, API 661, TEMA, and other relevant standards.
- Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with process, piping, structural, procurement and fabrication teams to ensure design requirements are met.
- Review customer specifications, data sheets, and technical requirements.
- Conduct material selection based on operating conditions, corrosion allowance, and project requirements.
- Support procurement activities by reviewing vendor documents and technical submittals.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, inspection, testing, and installation activities.
- Resolve engineering and manufacturing issues during production.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, project schedules and safety requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and client meetings as required.
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
