Vessel Design Engineer (Oil & Gas / Pressure Vessel Industry)

The Vessel Design Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and development of pressure vessels, storage tanks, separators, heat exchangers, and other static equipment used in the oil & gas, petrochemical and industrial sectors. The role involves preparing engineering calculations, design drawings, material specifications and ensuring compliance with international codes and standards such as ASME, API and TEMA.

Key Responsibilities

• Design pressure vessels, storage tanks, separators, scrubbers, heat exchangers, and other static equipment in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.
• Prepare design calculations including vessel thickness, nozzle reinforcement, saddle/support design, wind and seismic loading calculations.
• Perform mechanical design as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2, API 650, API 620, API 661, TEMA, and other relevant standards.
• Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
• Coordinate with process, piping, structural, procurement and fabrication teams to ensure design requirements are met.
• Review customer specifications, data sheets, and technical requirements.
• Conduct material selection based on operating conditions, corrosion allowance, and project requirements.
• Support procurement activities by reviewing vendor documents and technical submittals.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, inspection, testing, and installation activities.
• Resolve engineering and manufacturing issues during production.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, project schedules and safety requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and client meetings as required.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
