Hueman Group Media (HGM) is a Webby-winning media production company for people and organizations doing good in the world. HGM specializes in creating original and branded shows distributed across YouTube, podcast platforms, and other digital channels.

For our branded content, our talented team of producers and creatives work with our clients — from show development and production to marketing and live recording events.

HGM is looking for a proactive, results and detail-oriented, collaborative, and kind human who will join our team as a video editor. This role will mainly be responsible for editing and executing video content that amplifies the presence of HGM and HGM’s slate of podcasts.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded video professional who is equally comfortable shaping a story in the edit, creating polished motion graphics, and supporting the technical needs of a video shoot or virtual recording.

Position Details

• Part-time, hourly position
• Approximately 12–15 hours per week
• Potential for additional hours depending on project volume
• $25 per hour
• Flexible schedule, provided communication is reliable and deadlines are consistently met
• Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work in the New York City area or other mutually agreed upon locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Edit a variety of video content from start to finish
• Organize footage, build rough cuts, and deliver polished final edits
• Create titles, graphics, animations, and other motion design elements
• Apply color correction, audio cleanup, and basic sound mixing
• Prepare and export videos for various platforms and formats
• Participate in occasional in-person video shoots if needed
• Help manage virtual video recordings
• Support camera, lighting, audio, and other production needs
• Collaborate on creative direction and provide thoughtful visual recommendations
• Communicate clearly about project timelines, revisions, and deliverables

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
• Well-rounded understanding of video production and post-production
• Technical and creative experience with cameras, lighting, composition, and audio
• Strong sense of visual design, pacing, typography, and storytelling
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Reliable communication and attention to detail
• Ability to occassionally commute into and/or around the NYC area when needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with interview, podcast, social media, branded, or documentary-style content
