SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We are seeking a highly motivated Videographer to collaborate with the entire communications office to conceptualize and execute creative video products to be used across various media platforms for members of the caucus.
The ideal candidate is a creative, proactive individual with well-developed critical thinking skills who can both plan ahead and solve problems as they arise, sometimes unexpectedly. The Videographer should be able to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Creative, highly motivated videographer.
- Capture creative and interesting video at the Capitol and in Senate districts, including committee meetings, news conferences, tours, and member events.
- Work with colleagues in the Communications Office to prepare professional, timely and creative video content to convey the messages of the Senate Republican Caucus and its members.
- Shoot and edit for member websites, social media, distribution to TV news outlets, etc.
- Collaborate with coworkers to manage assignment requests from multiple offices.
- Cover committee activity in Capitol using robotic cameras, switcher, sound system, and livestreaming equipment.
- Encode and edit video clips of session and committee activity in Capitol.
- Travel statewide for member events, news conferences and committee activity.
- Participate in studio recordings (directing, audio board, teleprompter).
- Assist member offices with video projects as needed.
- Travel as needed, with occasional overnights, to cover member events, news conferences and committee activity.
- Stay late as needed on session days.
- Occasional weekend and holiday assignments.
- Other work-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Nonlinear editing software on MacBook Pro (e.g., Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro).
- Handheld and tripod-mounted camera operation, microphone and portable light setup.
- Studio equipment (studio cameras, switcher, prompter, audio board, virtual set).
- Hearing control room equipment (robotic cameras, switcher, etc.).
- Web video (streaming, encoding, technical specifications).
- Field production equipment (robotic cameras, switcher, audio mixer, livestream, Zoom).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, self-starting team player.
- Can work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Can carry equipment and lift at least 50 pounds.
- Still photography skills (digital SLR) are a strong bonus.
- Basic knowledge of state government is helpful.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
