Welder/Fabricator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience welding and fabricating both steel and aluminum. This role involves performing high-quality fabrication work in our warehouse while ensuring all work complies with applicable industry codes, standards, and safety requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a variety of welding techniques and fabrication skills to contribute to our company's success. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience welding and fabricating both steel and aluminum.

Responsibilities:

Welding & Fabrication

  • Cut, grind, and prepare metal materials prior to welding.
  • Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and structural steel.
  • Weld structural and load-bearing components to ensure strength, alignment, and durability.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop processes including machining, plasma cutting, fitting, and assembly.
  • Measure and mark materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure correct dimensions.
  • Use power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment for metal cutting.
  • Strong shop math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during fabrication.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and mechanical fabrication projects to meet project deadlines.

Welding Equipment Operation

  • Operate welding equipment, selecting appropriate filler rods and spool guns.
  • Adjust and maintain welding equipment for optimal performance.

Fabrication Equipment Operation

  • Operate plasma cutter, CNC plasma table, mag drill, and manual milling machine.
  • Safely use fabrication tools and equipment to produce quality components.

Quality Control

  • Inspect completed welds for accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all finished products meet company quality standards.

Safety

  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Welding certification and/or vocational training in welding is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 3–5+ years of experience welding aluminum and structural steel.
  • Proven experience in metal fabrication, including structural or load-bearing components such as frames, beams, or similar assemblies.
  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding required.
  • Familiarity with welding industry codes and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of welding tools, equipment, and fabrication processes.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Comfortable working with heavy equipment in a warehouse or fabrication shop environment.
