We are hiring a Junior Interior Designer to support a federal healthcare client in Long Beach, CA.Position OverviewThis is a strong opportunity for an early-career interior designer to build meaningful experience in a federal healthcare environment while supporting projects that directly serve Veterans. Working alongside Senior Interior Designers and client design staff, the Junior Interior Designer supports design, planning, activation, procurement documentation, FF&amp;E coordination, and installation activities for healthcare facility projects.This role is best for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with drawings and documentation, and able to support multiple moving parts in a structured project environment.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist Senior Interior Designers and client design staff with interior design and activation support</li><li>Prepare AutoCAD FF&amp;E plans, sketches, color schemes, and design presentation materials</li><li>Review architectural drawings and help develop furniture, fixture, and equipment plan layers</li><li>Support preparation of procurement packages, including scopes of work, specifications, bid sheets, schedules, and supporting documentation</li><li>Maintain design files, procurement records, specifications, project binders, and resource library materials</li><li>Support furniture, accessories, art, signage, equipment, and office supply planning for activation projects</li><li>Help coordinate delivery, installation, and punch list completion with vendors and installers</li><li>Prepare meeting notes, schedules, design collateral, and project tracking materials</li><li>Support move planning, activation logistics, and day-in-life planning activities</li><li>Assist with field verification, installation review, and project closeout support</li></ul>Minimum QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following:<ul><li>Associate&rsquo;s degree in Interior Design or a related field; or</li><li>1&ndash;3 years of relevant interior design experience; or</li><li>Recent graduate with completed internships or practical experience in commercial, healthcare, or institutional design settings</li></ul>Required Skills<ul><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural specifications</li><li>Ability to prepare design documentation accurately and clearly</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Strong organization, time management, and follow-up skills</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in healthcare, hospital, federal, or institutional environments</li><li>Familiarity with healthcare or federal design standards</li><li>Experience with Revit or Microsoft Project</li><li>Knowledge of NCIDQ, EDAC, LEED, or PMP, or active pursuit of one of these credentials</li><li>Familiarity with patient-centered care design principles</li></ul>Important Work RequirementsTo align with the contract requirements, candidates must understand the following:<ul><li>This role is fully on-site in Long Beach, California</li><li>No remote or hybrid work</li><li>Candidate must be able to work in a federal healthcare facility environment</li><li>Candidate must be able to pass required background screening before starting work</li><li>Candidate must be able to follow client site policies, badge requirements, safety rules, and professional workplace standards</li><li>This role supports a structured client contract, so dependability, professionalism, and responsiveness are essential</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>11 paid federal holidays per year</li><li>80 hours combined accrued PTO and sick time</li><li>Wellbeing allowance</li></ul>Pay: $52,588.50 - $63,332.39 per yearWork Location: In person
