The Laboratory Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations in the Chemical and Physical Laboratories and is responsible for assuring all testing is performed in compliance with industry and customer standards in order to certify product. He/she also trains and supervises the Lab Technicians. The Lab Supervisor has general duties within the Quality department</p><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Duties Include:</b></h1><ul><li>
Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Physical and Chemical Laboratories</li><li>
Trains and supervises the Lab Technicians</li><li>
Reviews production orders against customer requirement and assigns and plans required tests.</li><li>
Performs production testing as required to cover for absences or workload surges.</li><li>
Ensures test equipment and written procedures are compliant with industry and customer standards.</li><li>
Responsible for ensuring calibration and general upkeep of equipment and maintaining inventory of consumables</li><li>
Coordinates contracted outside laboratory testing.</li><li>

Skill and Competency Requirements:</b></h1><ul><li>
Associates in Quality, Engineering or Technical field preferred or relevant work experience in mechanical testing laboratory</li><li>
High school diploma required</li><li>
Working experience (minimum 3 years) in comparable roles</li><li>
Knowledgeable in all types of chemical and physical testing of steel preferred</li><li>
Knowledgeable in CNC machining preferred</li><li>
Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.</li><li>
Can prioritize work based on the delivery needs of the production department</li><li>
Strong background in Quality Assurance and Control preferred</li><li>
Supervisory or managerial experience preferred</li></ul></div>
