About UsA + 1 Academy is a student-centered learning center in Irvine, offering 1:1 and small-group instruction across STEM and AP courses. We emphasize clear instruction, data-driven progress tracking, and strong communication with families.What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Teach AP Chemistry / Honors Chemistry in 1:1 or small groups (2&ndash;6 students).</li><li>Align instruction with the College Board AP Chemistry framework; prepare students for unit tests and the AP exam.</li><li>Design lesson plans, practice sets, and targeted review; assign and grade homework with timely feedback.</li><li>Diagnose learning gaps; track progress with simple data/notes.</li><li>Communicate learning goals and updates to students/parents; coordinate with the program manager.</li></ul>Must-Haves<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s/Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Chemistry or related field (Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, etc.).</li><li>Solid command of AP Chemistry topics (stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, electrochemistry, atomic structure, bonding, acids/bases).</li><li>Prior teaching/tutoring experience (AP or honors level preferred).</li><li>Clear communication, structured lesson delivery, and reliable classroom management.</li><li>Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work on-site in Irvine.</li></ul>Nice-to-Haves<ul><li>Experience with College Board FRQs &amp; scoring rubrics.</li><li>Familiarity with UC Scout/Princeton/BSJ/AMSCO materials or similar.</li><li>Bilingual (English/Mandarin) &mdash; ability to explain concepts in Chinese is a plus (not required).</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Work Location: In person
