Job Description: Procurement AssistantReports To: Procurement CoordinatorStatus: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (Possible move to full-time in the future)Takes Direction From: Executive Team, Senior TeamCalendar: Administrative CalendarJob SummaryThe Procurement Assistant provides essential support to the Procurement Coordinator in the day-to-day functioning of ASUA&rsquo;s procurement operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and flexibility, as daily tasks may vary significantly. The Procurement Assistant will help ensure the accurate receipt, organization, and distribution of goods while supporting the educational and workplace growth of students in a special education setting.Certifications and Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li><li>Current (dated within a year) Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances</li></ul>Essential DutiesAdministrative Support<ul><li>Assist the Procurement Coordinator with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, system updates, and communications.</li><li>Communicate with delivery drivers and vendors to confirm and ensure correct delivery.</li><li>Provide information and updates to the Procurement Coordinator regarding inventory and supply needs.</li><li>Uphold ASUA&rsquo;s policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and confidentiality.</li></ul>Procurement &amp; Logistics<ul><li>Assist with package unpacking, sorting, storing, and delivering throughout ASUA facilities.</li><li>Carry items throughout ASUA buildings, including up and down stairs.</li><li>Support inventory organization and tracking processes.</li><li>Use equipment safely and appropriately, including hand trucks, hand forklifts, box cutters, and other materials-handling tools.</li><li>Ensure efficiency and safety when loading and unloading vehicles for transporting deliveries.</li><li>Help maintain accurate records of supplies and materials.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Highly organized and responsive</li><li>Flexibility with daily activities (fast or slow-paced days)</li><li>Comfortable driving various vehicles, including large vans and box trucks</li><li>Comfortable using equipment such as hand forklifts, hand trucks, and box cutters</li><li>Safety conscious and committed to following safety procedures</li><li>Proficient in computer use; Airtable knowledge a plus</li><li>Comfortable working and communicating alongside individuals with various disabilities</li><li>Comfortable working in a special education school setting and supporting students&rsquo; educational and workplace growth</li></ul>Additional Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>To read and abide by the Employee Handbook including updates and changes</li><li>To attend all mandatory meetings, including those that fall outside of regularly scheduled school hours and as described in the Employee Handbook</li><li>Adhere to A Step Up Academy&rsquo;s policies, procedures, and methodologies</li><li>This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. All media resources and borrowed material are to be judiciously used, and are to be maintained in a reasonably unsoiled and non- damaged fashion.
