Duties and responsibilities
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist proactively supports the delivery of HR processes for assigned business units, providing day-to-day guidance to management and employees to improve work relationships, productivity, and retention. The position formulates partnerships across the HR and business functions to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.<ul><li>
Conduct regular meetings with respective business units and line management, to provide consultative HR guidance and policy interpretation.</li><li>
Provide day-to-day employee relations and performance management guidance to line management to improve work relationships and increase productivity and retention.</li><li>
Manage and mediate moderately complex employee relations issues.
</li><li>Provide support to managers to improve work relationships and increase productivity and retention.</li><li>
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues in the human resources department to develop policies, programs, and solutions.</li><li>
Coordinate compensation terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.</li><li>
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and recruitment.</li><li>
Assist in annual performance review process, administration of health and welfare plan enrollments and related administrative updates.</li><li>
Participate in the planning and development of HR department initiatives.
</li><li>Assist Managers with recruitment and interview process.</li><li>
Assist international employees with visa requirements.</li><li>
Schedule and conduct new employee orientation.
</li><li>Conduct records audits and reporting.</li><li>
Support Employee Wellness initiatives including planning and organizing activities.</li><li>
Complete other duties and related projects as assigned.</li></ul><ul><li>
Ability to perform the duties described above.
</li><li>Related BS/BA degree or equivalent level/ years of training and experience.</li><li>
Five or more years of direct experience in Human Resources, California based experience required</li><li>
Progressive HR work experience with a background in Health Care or Social Services Non-profit setting highly desired</li><li>
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.</li><li>
Ability to prioritize work to manage time effectively.</li><li>
Ability to maintain confidential information.</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Experience utilizing HRIS and ATS/ talent management systems.
</li><li>Demonstrated emotional intelligence.</li><li>
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.</li><li>
Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential backgrounds.</li><li>
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-departmental team.
