A major client is asking us to provide a Sr. Construction Scheduling Engineer to assist with scheduling and control of mission-critical hyper-scale data center construction in the eastern half of the U.S.JOB DESCRIPTION:The Sr. Construction Scheduling Engineer (Scheduler) will work on site in a fast-paced construction environment under the direction of the client&rsquo;s Assistant VP of Scheduling. The Scheduler will collaborate closely with the client&rsquo;s construction and engineering teams to develop and manage comprehensive project schedules. You will be responsible for creating and updating schedules at various milestones, as project deliverables are completed, and as scopes of work are added. Additionally, you will identify schedule risks and provide regular updates to key team members on the progress of project completion.TYPE: 1099 Independent ContractorSTART DATE: February 1, 2026DURATION: 18 to 24 months with good chance of extensionMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Project Planning and Strategy: Collaborate closely with the preconstruction manager, project managers, engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other project services staff to plan and optimize the project schedule from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.</li><li>Resource Management: Ensure that short-term and long-term project objectives are achieved. Create and manage schedule logic, constraints, realistic activity durations, and resource availability. Evaluate the effects of design changes and schedule delays. Communicate all schedule updates to company management and clients.</li><li>Risk Management: Evaluate the effects of design changes and schedule delays, identify risks and communicate to company management and clients. Identify critical path(s) and recommend ways to de-risk and improve the project schedule.</li><li>Stakeholder Engagement: Engage in challenging discussions with the entire project team, including the Owner, General Contractor, AE, Subcontractors, and Suppliers. Interact with clients, attend regular meetings and present statistical reports.</li><li>Performance Monitoring: Track project progress through metrics and reporting, adjusting plans as necessary to meet changing requirements or challenges.</li><li>Quality Assurance: Integrate detailed schedule fragments and make necessary sequencing adjustments as required.</li><li>Innovation and Improvement: Identify ways to optimize processes and improve project outcomes through innovative technologies or methodologies.</li></ul>Overall, this role involves collaborating with various project stakeholders to plan and schedule projects, leading and engaging with the project team, managing resources and risks, communicating updates, monitoring performance, ensuring quality, and continuously seeking process improvements.QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Ten (10) + of related construction project field control and scheduling experience</li><li>Experience scheduling $50M+ projects in sectors like general construction, electrical construction, manufacturing construction, technology or infrastructure (utilities, communication, buildings or energy industries)</li><li>Proficiency in gathering, maintaining, reporting, and analyzing schedule data</li><li>Mastery of scheduling methodology, risk analysis, and earned value management</li><li>Advanced-level scheduling software expertise: o Microsoft Project o Primavera P6 o Bluebeam</li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders</li><li>Very strong focus, time management, and communication skills</li><li>A strong ability to handle administrative tasks, including preparing progress reports and arranging meetings</li><li>Strong ability to develop and maintain project plans, identify schedule risks and communicate those risks to others</li><li>A valid US driver&rsquo;s license and permission to live and work in the USA; willingness and ability to travel</li></ul>Job Type: ContractPay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Relocation assistance</li></ul>Application Question(s):<ul><li>1. If this includes a large data center construction project, please specify.</li><li>9. How many years of experience do you have managing schedules for projects valued over $50M? Please also describe the types of projects and the industries these projects were in. </li></ul><ul><li>10. On a scale of 1&ndash;5 (1 = limited experience, 5 = expert-level) rate your proficiency in the following scheduling softwares: Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam.</li><li>11. Do you hold any advanced technical certifications in project scheduling and controls (e.g., PMI, PMI-SP, AACE PSP)? If yes, please list each certification and the year obtained.</li><li>12. Briefly describe a time when you identified a critical path risk that threatened the project delivery date; what specific actions did you take to de-risk the schedule?</li><li>13. How many projects have you supported on the scheduling control side that involved construction and industrial workflows, including RFIs, submittals, procurement, and commissioning? Please specify the number of projects and provide examples where possible.</li><li>14. In how many projects have you applied Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar performance measurement systems, and for how many years have you worked with these methodologies? Please provide details.</li><li>15. Please briefly describe an example of managing a critical path schedule on a construction project.
