<div>About the Role &amp; Program:
Ever wonder what it&rsquo;s like to work in a fast-paced national news bureau? The ABC News Los Angeles Bureau plays a critical role in covering everything from breaking news to entertainment events and live specials across the Western United States.
As an intern, you&rsquo;ll gain hands-on experience in a real-time newsroom environment, supporting newsgathering and production across broadcast, digital, and affiliate platforms. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of coverage&mdash;from red carpets and major trials to extreme weather and high-profile breaking news events.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Los Angeles, California area from June 2026&ndash;January 2027.
What You Will Do:
You will support multiple ABC News platforms, including the Assignment Desk, News Services (ABC&rsquo;s TV Affiliate News Service), and ABC News Radio. Responsibilities may include:
Bureau &amp; Field Production<ul><li>
Assisting producers in the field on breaking news and feature stories</li><li>
Conducting research, pre-interviews, and background prep for shoots</li><li>
Helping coordinate logistics for field crews, including gear, travel, and timing</li><li>
Shadowing live shots and learning how correspondents and crews prepare for air</li><li>
Participating in one-on-one shadowing opportunities with correspondents and MPRs (multi-platform reporters)</li></ul>
Assignment Desk<ul><li>
Monitoring news wires, social media, scanners, and local outlets for breaking news</li><li>
Assisting with story tracking, logging, and editorial coordination</li><li>
Pitching stories, research, making editorial calls, logging video feeds and transcribing tapes</li><li>
Collaborating with ABC stations and affiliates across the region</li></ul>
Editorial<ul><li>
Pitching story ideas and contributing to editorial discussions</li><li>
Booking interviews and coordinating guest logistics</li><li>
Writing digital articles and assisting with ABC News Digital content</li><li>
Supporting social media coverage for major events and breaking news</li><li>
Assisting with scripts, notes, and production materials</li></ul>
Required Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>
An avid news consumer with a strong interest in current events, journalism, and storytelling</li><li>
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment</li><li>
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>
Demonstrated interest (academic or internship experience) in journalism, production, or media</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>
Experience with social media, digital and streaming platforms</li><li>
Previous internship or experience in a newsroom, production environment, or campus media</li></ul> 
Eligibility Requirements &amp; Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:<ul><li>
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.</li><li>
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.</li><li>
Be at least 18 years of age</li><li>
Possess unrestricted work authorization</li></ul>
Additional Information<ul><li>
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship</li><li>
Fully available from June 2026 through January 2027</li><li>
All candidates must be willing to work 40 hours/week during a Monday through Sunday schedule (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor, and could include nights, weekends, and holidays)</li><li>
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Glendale, CA area</li><li>
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the Glendale, CA</li></ul>

The pay rate for this role in California is $22.50 per hour.
