ABCHESS is an afterschool program provider that specializes in teaching kids and helping them grow through the game of chess. We've have taught 25,000 students from over 50 countries. and raised 4 prize winners of the world school chess championship.Role Description:We are looking for part-time Chess Instructors in Albany and Schenectady areas. Opportunities will be assigned based on your location.What you&rsquo;ll do:<ul><li>Teach chess to kids of different ages and skill levels</li><li>Lead group classes (usually 10&ndash;20 students)</li><li>Help students improve step by step</li><li>Prepare students for tournaments</li><li>Work with our team to deliver the ABCHESS program</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Proficiency in chess and pedagogy</li><li>Experience teaching or tutoring chess</li><li>Background checked &amp; fingerprinted</li><li>Friendly and patient with kids</li><li>Able to manage and engage a classroom</li></ul>Nice to have:<ul><li>Experience teaching in schools or after-school programs</li><li>Experience running chess events or tournaments</li><li>Ability to teach students of all ages and abilities</li></ul>At ABCHESS, you&rsquo;ll help kids grow into confident thinkers and chess players.
