Job Summary HIRING ASAP- We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Steel Erector to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and securing steel structures on various construction sites. Your expertise in welding, rigging, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your dedication and precision will contribute directly to the successful completion of large-scale fabrication and construction endeavors.Duties<ul><li>Interpret and follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble steel components</li><li>Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and welding equipment including MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and &lt;LOCATION&gt; welding techniques</li><li>Use rigging gear and cranes safely to lift, position, and secure heavy steel sections and structures</li><li>Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure proper fitment</li><li>Fabricate steel components by cutting, shaping, drilling, threading pipes, and performing plasma cutting as needed</li><li>Assemble structural steel frameworks according to ASME codes &amp; standards while maintaining quality control</li><li>Perform welding tasks on sheet metal and ductwork using appropriate techniques for each material</li><li>Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times</li><li>Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and project specifications</li><li>Assist with mechanical assembly processes involving pipe threading, soldering, machining, or assembly of mechanical parts</li><li>Operate forklifts or other machinery for material handling within the construction site or manufacturing environment</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven construction site experience working with structural steel or related fields</li><li>Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding techniques; familiarity with &lt;LOCATION&gt; welding preferred</li><li>Experience with blueprint reading and interpreting schematics for fabrication and assembly projects</li><li>Knowledge of rigging procedures using cranes and hoists for lifting heavy steel components safely</li><li>Ability to use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, soldering irons, press brake machines effectively</li><li>Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including pipe threading and plasma cutting</li><li>Familiarity with ASME codes &amp; standards governing steel fabrication and erection practices</li><li>Strong understanding of safety protocols in construction environments involving heavy machinery and welding operations</li><li>Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during assembly or fabrication tasks</li></ul>Join our team as a Steel Erector if you thrive in a physically demanding environment where precision meets teamwork.
