&middot; Planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatment of patients suffering from injuries or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore functions, relieve pain and prevent disability.&middot; Reviewing physician&rsquo;s referral (prescription) and patient&rsquo;s condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.&middot; Testing and measuring patient&rsquo;s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity and respiratory and circulatory efficiency and record findings to develop or revise treatment programs.&middot; Planning and preparing written treatment programs based on evaluation of patient data.&middot; Administering manual exercises to improve and maintaining functions.&middot; Instructing, motivating, and assisting patients to perform various physical activities such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities.&middot; Administering treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment, such as hydrotherapy tanks and whirlpool baths, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.&middot; Evaluating effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefits.&middot; Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients&rsquo; functional goals.&middot; Enhances professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs. In-service meetings and workshops. Keeps up to date professional literature.&middot; Administering massages, applying knowledge of massage techniques and body physiology.&middot; Conducts therapy practice within defined standard of care.&middot; Administering traction to relieve pain using traction equipment.&middot; Recording treatment, responses and progress in patient&rsquo;s chart or enters information into computer.
