Position Summary</b></div><div>
The Social Services Assistant supports the mission of Job Corps by helping students overcome personal, social, and behavioral challenges that may interfere with their education and career training. This role combines instructional responsibilities&mdash;teaching life skills and employability workshops&mdash;with direct student support, ensuring that young people have the tools, resources, and encouragement they need to succeed in the program and beyond.</div><div><b><br>
Key Responsibilities</b></div><div><i>
Instructional Duties</i></div><ul><li><div>
Deliver structured group sessions on topics such as conflict resolution, decision-making, communication skills, and workplace readiness.</div></li><li><div>
Assist in developing and updating lesson plans, handouts, and workshops that align with Job Corps&rsquo; Career Success Standards.</div></li><li><div>
Facilitate orientation sessions for new students, introducing them to center expectations, resources, and support services.</div></li><li><div>
Support the Social Services team in integrating life skills training into the broader academic and career technical curriculum.</div></li></ul><div><i><br>
Student Support &amp; Case Management</i></div><ul><li><div>
Provide one-on-one guidance to students experiencing personal, social, or behavioral challenges.</div></li><li><div>
Assist with case management activities, including documentation, progress tracking, and referrals to community resources.</div></li><li><div>
Collaborate with counselors, residential staff, and instructors to ensure a holistic approach to student development.</div></li><li><div>
Encourage positive behavior, accountability, and personal growth through mentoring and consistent support.</div></li></ul><div></div><div><i><br>
Program &amp; Compliance</i></div><ul><li><div>
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with Job Corps Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH).</div></li><li><div>
Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings to support student success.</div></li><li><div>
Assist in coordinating student engagement activities that promote wellness, leadership, and community involvement.</div></li><li><div>
Support the center&rsquo;s mission of fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.</div></li></ul><div><b><br>
Qualifications</b></div><ul><li><div>
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field preferred</div></li><li><div>
Experience working with at-risk youth or young adults strongly preferred</div></li><li><div>
Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skill</div></li><li><div>
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment</div></li><li><div>
