Busy Hematology and Oncology practice is looking for a motivated Certified Medical Assistant/ PCT for our Pompton Plains office. Main responsibilities include navigating patients, helping in the lab, and answering phones. Bi-lingual Spanish speaking is a plus.Prior experience as a Medical Assistant is required.Job duties:<ul><li>Performs chart review prior to clinic visit and obtains historical data.</li><li>Obtains and records patient&rsquo;s vital signs in EMR.</li><li>Assists patients in wheelchairs and stretchers with transfers to and from exam tables, procedure tables, and scales, utilizing proper body mechanics and safety measures.</li><li>Assists patients to exam room and prepares patients for examination.</li><li>Collects patient information and assessment data, documents in EMR</li><li>Assists practitioner in patient procedures and treatments such as injections and bone marrow biopsies</li><li>Obtains prior authorization for scans, and other procedures</li><li>Filling out disability paperwork</li><li>Obtains and manages specimens, including labeling, form completion, transport to laboratories, and log maintenance</li><li>Provides appropriate patient education, health information materials and community resource lists as directed. Maintains educational supplies.</li><li>Orders, stocks, and maintains exam rooms and clinic areas with standard levels of supplies, medications, linens, nourishments, forms, and equipment.</li><li>Operates CBC equipment according to equipment procedures including safety and quality control checks.</li><li>Performs related and delegated tasks, including requests for prescription refills, taking, and relaying messages, directing patient flow, and running errands.</li><li>Schedule appointments</li><li>Verify patient demographic and insurance information</li><li>Collects co-pays and outstanding bills</li><li>Calls back patients, picks up phone calls, triages for appropriate care</li><li>Route clinical questions and emergency calls to nursing staff or physician.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information</li></ul>Effectively cope with typical job stress in a professional, calm mannerJob Type: Full-timeJob Type: Full-timePay: From $24.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Schedule:<ul><li>8 hour shift</li><li>Monday to Friday</li></ul>Work Location: In person
