<div>About the Role: Counselling Teacher
We are seeking committed and experienced Counselling Teachers to join our Higher Education team at Activate Learning. You will play a vital role in delivering and co-tutoring our Level 2-4 Diplomas in Therapeutic Counselling, helping to shape the professional and personal development of aspiring counsellors.
You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to adult learners undertaking counselling qualifications aligned with BACP ethical standards. You will support learners in developing core competencies, reflective practice, and readiness for placement and professional accreditation.
We have two permanent, part-time contracts available at our Guildford College Campus, teaching on Tuesdays and Thursdays with flexible admin time around these. One would work 16.9 hours per week (0.49 FTE), and the other would work 19.9 hours per week (0.54 FTE) and have additional responsibilities as a programme coordinator.
What do you need to be successful as a Counselling Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for individuals who can serve as role models for our learners, ensuring they graduate with not only professional qualifications but also the skills needed to succeed in the workplace. 
You must have:<ul><li>
A recognised Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (minimum 420 guided learning hours)</li><li>
A degree or master&rsquo;s degree in Counselling or a related field (Master&rsquo;s level preferred)</li><li>
Registered membership of BACP, UKCP, NCS, or an equivalent recognised professional body</li><li>
Completion of at least 10 hours of personal therapy</li><li>
Evidence of ongoing CPD (minimum 30 hours annually)</li><li>
Current supervised counselling practice with a minimum of 6 months&rsquo; post-qualifying experience</li></ul>
Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our Business courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.
To be suitable for the additional hours and responsibilities as a programme coordinator you should also have a supervision qualification or be willing to work towards this

Counselling Teacher

<div>We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Caf&eacute; Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operation of our busy caf&eacute; while supporting young people to develop valuable catering, barista and employability skills.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for hospitality who enjoys mentoring others and creating a welcoming environment for customers, staff and students. Working closely with the Head of Centre and SEND team, you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding caf&eacute; experience while helping students gain confidence, practical skills and meaningful work experience.
About the role:
As a Caf&eacute; Coordinator, you will oversee the daily operation of the caf&eacute;, ensuring high standards of food quality, customer service, cleanliness and compliance with food safety legislation. Alongside managing the caf&eacute;, you will coach and support students undertaking work experience placements, helping them achieve their learning goals and prepare for future employment.
This role combines hospitality management with education and mentoring, making it ideal for someone who enjoys developing people as much as delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Manage the day-to-day operation of the caf&eacute;, delivering an excellent hot and cold food and beverage service.</li><li>
Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff and members of the public.</li><li>
Prepare and serve food and beverages, including operating a barista-style coffee machine.</li><li>
Assist with food preparation and cooking, promoting healthy, balanced menu choices.</li><li>
Order food and monitor stock levels to meet budget targets.</li><li>
Receive deliveries, manage stock rotation and maintain accurate stock control.</li><li>
Ensure all food hygiene, food safety, allergen and health and safety legislation is followed and accurately recorded.</li><li>
Restock supplies and ensure equipment is cleaned and stored safely.</li></ul>
This role is part time (working 28 hours per week), fixed term contract until July 2027 based at our Wokingham Hub.
What you need to be successful as a Caf&eacute; Coordinator at Activate Learning:<ul><li>
Experience supervising or managing a caf&eacute;, coffee shop or hospitality environment.</li><li>
Excellent customer service and communication skills.</li><li>
Experience preparing and serving food and beverages.</li><li>
Knowledge of food hygiene, food safety, allergen management and health and safety legislation.</li><li>
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage stock, ordering and cash handling.</li><li>
A positive, patient and supportive approach to working with young people, including those with additional learning needs.</li><li>
A recognised Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to obtain one).</li><li>
Barista experience would be an advantage.</li></ul>

Cafe Coordinator

<div><div>About the role: Work Experience Coordinator
Activate Learning are recruiting for a Work Experience Coordinators to join our team in Reading, supporting a caseload of students to develop their employability skills and prepare for a work experience placement relevant to their career plans. Working alongside our teams of learning professionals, you will deliver &lsquo;Preparation for Placement&rsquo; sessions to students, as well as progress tracking sessions throughout the academic year to ensure all students are given the appropriate guidance and support to complete each stage of the Work Experience process.
You will ensure that all placements are accurately recorded on our work experience placement system and proactively support students and employers throughout the placements, ensuring excellent outcomes for all stakeholders. You will record leaners progress and compete the necessary health and safety paperwork to ensure the workplace is compliant in meeting the Colleges&rsquo; minimum standard and is a safe environment for the learner.
You'll research and contact external providers to secure placements for learners, building relationships with them and engaging them with their learner's development.
This is a fixed-term, full-time contract to cover maternity leave until June 2027, based at our Reading College Campus.
What do you need to be successful as a Work Experience Coordinator at Activate Learning?
We are looking for a highly organised and attentive individual, with strong administrative and IT skills, and experience in managing multiple tasks, tracking progress and reprioritising to achieve deadlines.
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver inspirational individual or group sessions to learners. You will be empathetic and confident in supporting students to develop their work readiness/employability skills. Alongside delivery, you'll be comfortable sourcing and building relationships with external service providers to secure placements.</div>

Work Experience Coordinator

Reading College is seeking an experienced and dedicated Student Welfare Coordinator to join our Lifeskills team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting students receiving Additional Learning Support, including those within our 16-19 programmes.
The successful candidate will help ensure student retention, wellbeing, and achievement by providing high-quality pastoral support. You will work closely with learners with High Needs and other care requirements, ensuring appropriate support strategies are in place to enable them to thrive academically and personally.
This role requires a compassionate, proactive professional who can create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment where students feel confident accessing support.

What do you need to be successful as a Student Welfare Coordinator at Activate Learning?
A minimum GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above is essential, along with an understanding of the need for a student-centred approach and ability to offer varying support strategies to cover diverse learning needs. Proven experience in a welfare or social care role and safeguarding knowledge/experience. You will have excellent understanding/experience working with a range of learners including: MLD, PMLD and SEMH. You will also have experience of multi-agency working.
