Job Summary
 Our Drivers have a crucial role in Active Day's success. You are the first and last person with our members every day. As Transportation Coordinator you are responsible for training and mentoring our drivers. Additionally, the Transportation Coordinator develops and assigns routes, ensures fleet vehicles are in safe operating condition and maintains related records and reports. Transportation Coordinators lead by example - maintaining a positive attitude; being thoughtful, supportive, productive, and dependable co-worker; keeping our members safe, and always working to enhance the health and happiness of the people we serve and those who care for them.
 
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
<ul>
<li>Conduct Driver training - ensuring all Drivers are provided with the tools to follow all standard operating procedures.</li>
<li>Coach and mentor Drivers; provide Center Director or Transportation Manager feedback relative to Drivers’ performance.</li>
<li>Develop efficient, scheduled routes and oversee safe transport of all members promptly. Drive assigned routes and ability to jump in and drive when needed.</li>
<li>Oversee fleet; ensure Drivers conduct daily vehicle inspections, follow prescribed maintenance and fueling schedule, confirm wheelchair lifts and tie-down equipment are operating correctly, and maintain the cleanliness of their vehicles. Respond to and resolve reports of mechanical or safety concerns, repairs, or service needs.</li>
<li>Maintain current and working knowledge of state, federal, and regulatory laws & guidelines related to passenger transport.</li>
<li>Effectively manage accident investigations and related reporting.</li>
<li>Ensure proper submission of Medicaid billing claims for transportation trips, if applicable.</li>
<li>Assist Center Director and home office transportation team in identifying and implementing operational efficiencies to enhance the member experience.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>High school degree or equivalent required.</li>
<li>Bilingual in English and Spanish REQUIRED</li>
<li>At least 21 years of age, and prior experience coaching, mentoring and motivating others, preferably in a transportation environment.</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license and state/vehicle-specific driver credentials.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and GPS/routing software.</li>
<li>Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities.</li>
<li>Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.</li>
<li>Able to work a flexible schedule.</li>
<li>Able to push, pull, bend, turn, pivot, transfer and lift up to 50 pounds; able to routinely and repeatedly exit and enter the vehicle to assist members with on- and off-boarding.</li>
<li>Able to pass required physical exams including Department of Transportation (DOT) exam.</li>
<li>Successful results of background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing, and any other state-specific requirements.</li>
<li>Knowledge of local geographic area preferred.</li>
<li>Where applicable, certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and Passenger Assisted Safety & Sensitivity (PASS) are required and will be facilitated as part of job training</li>

Job Summary
 Our The NEMT Driver safely transports passengers to and from non-emergency medical appointments, such as doctor visits, dialysis, physical therapy, and hospital discharges. The driver provides courteous, professional assistance while ensuring passenger safety, comfort, and on-time service in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
 
Qualifications
 <ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED preferred but not always required.</li>
<li>Must be at least 21 years of age</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (per company and insurance requirements).</li>
<li>Previous professional driving, NEMT, paratransit, taxi, courier, or delivery experience preferred but not required.</li>
<li>Safe and responsible driving skills in all weather and traffic conditions.</li>
<li>Ability to read maps, follow GPS, and navigate the service area efficiently.</li>
<li>Good communication skills and a professional, courteous manner.</li>
<li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete basic paperwork/ electronic forms.</li>
<li>Basic smartphone/tablet/computer skills for dispatch and trip documentation.</li>
<li>Ability to assist passengers with limited mobility, including pushing wheelchairs and occasionally supporting passengers as they walk.</li>
<li>Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and secure mobility devices; may include lifting up to 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Reliable, punctual, and able to follow schedules and instructions.</li>
<li>Patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with elderly, disabled, or medically fragile individuals.</li>
<li>Ability to frequently get in and out of the vehicle and assisting passengers at residences and medical facilities.</li>
<li>Ability to work a flexible schedule: Work schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on operational needs.</li>
</ul>
Job Responsibilities
 <ul>
<li>Safely operate company vehicles to transport passengers to and from scheduled medical appointments.</li>
<li>Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any mechanical or safety issues.</li>
<li>Follow all traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety procedures.</li>
<li>Properly secure wheelchairs, stretchers, and mobility devices using approved securement systems.</li>
<li>Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle, including use of ramps, lifts, and steps.</li>
<li>Treat all passengers with dignity, respect, and professionalism.</li>
<li>Offer appropriate assistance to elderly, disabled, or mobility-challenged passengers.</li>
<li>Maintain passenger confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and company privacy policies.</li>
<li>Communicate courteously with passengers, caregivers, facilities, and dispatch regarding trip status and any issues.</li>
<li>Follow daily schedules and routes as assigned by dispatch, communicating delays or changes promptly.</li>
<li>Use company technology (tablets, phones, MDTs, apps) to receive trips, update statuses, and capture signatures.</li>
<li>Accurately complete trip logs, mileage, time records, and any required forms or electronic documentation.</li>
<li>Report no-shows, cancellations, incidents, and changes in a timely and accurate manner.</li>
<li>Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and presentable inside and out.</li>
<li>Follow infection control and sanitation procedures, including cleaning after spills or bodily fluids when required.</li>
<li>Ensure adequate fuel levels and supplies (securement equipment, PPE, forms, etc.) before and during shifts.</li>
<li>Comply with all company policies, broker rules, and applicable state/local regulations.</li>
<li>Maintain required licenses, driving record standards, medical clearances, and certifications.</li>
<li>Attend required training sessions, safety meetings, and performance reviews.</li>
