Active Learning teachers are known throughout Orange County for their excellence in teaching their craft. We are seeking animated and outgoing personalities with an interest in teaching children, a skill they themselves are passionate about. While musical theatre background is desired, teachers will be provided with training and curriculum but are also encouraged to employ their own individuality, creativity, and expertise to make their lessons unique and engaging for students. If you are a creative individual who is passionate about Arts education and making a positive impact on students' lives, we would love to hear from you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<ul><li>Prepare musical theatre lessons for students in Transitional Kindergarten to 6th grade on a weekly basis</li><li>Use age appropriate teaching techniques to guide students in Transitional Kindergarten to 6th grade</li><li>Manage up to 20 students with clear expectations, respect, and organized teaching</li><li>Utilize different teaching styles to meet the needs of a diverse range of students</li><li>Create a positive and fun environment in which to learn and create</li><li>Inspire critical thinking methods while teaching musical theatre lessons to students</li><li>Communicate and coordinate with a team teacher in daily lessons</li><li>Check in with the school staff for communication regarding schedule, location, classes, etc.</li><li>Maintain a positive rapport with school staff such as principal, office staff and other admin</li><li>Organize materials and ensure the needed equipment is ready</li><li>Communicate with Warehouse/Inventory Manager, Site Coordinator, Program Manager regarding materials needed, curriculum needs, teaching support, etc.</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Educational or formal training in dance, music, and musical theatre required</li><li>Strong understanding of child development and impact on learning</li><li>Patient, empathetic, and encouraging demeanor to motivate and inspire students</li><li>Adaptability and flexibility to tailor lessons to meet diverse student needs and learning styles</li><li>Ability to remain positive, calm and flexible when faced with unexpected situations</li><li>A good knowledge of safety principles and practices</li><li>Experience working with children in a school or after school setting</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Excellent time management, multitasking and organizational skills skills with ability to prioritize work</li><li>Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person work environments</li><li>Self-directed and able to work independently</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Must pass a background check.</li><li>TB test clearance to be renewed every 4 years.</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hourExpected hours: 5 &ndash; 15 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Work Location: In person
