We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and proactive Personal Assistant/Caregiver to support an individual with Down syndrome in daily life. This role goes beyond basic caregiving&mdash;it's about fostering independence, encouraging engagement, and creating a positive, active lifestyle both at home and in the community.The ideal candidate is attentive, upbeat, socially aware, and takes initiative in providing high-quality care while promoting dignity and confidence.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and personal care</li><li>Provide gentle guidance and encouragement to complete daily routines independently when possible</li><li>Act as a motivator and support system for completing activities and maintaining structure</li><li>Engage in community outings, social activities, and recreational events</li><li>Maintain awareness of the individual&rsquo;s needs, presentation, and comfort when in public settings</li><li>Encourage positive social interactions and engagement with others</li><li>Support emotional well-being through patience, consistency, and a positive attitude</li><li>Observe and respond to changes in mood, behavior, or needs</li><li>Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in caregiving, personal assistance, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred</li><li>Strong understanding of ADL support and personal care</li><li>Naturally upbeat, engaging, and personable demeanor</li><li>Ability to take initiative without constant direction</li><li>Strong observation skills and situational awareness, especially in public settings</li><li>Reliable, patient, and compassionate</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable transportation (if community outings are required)</li></ul>Preferred Traits<ul><li>Encouraging and motivating personality</li><li>Comfortable engaging with people in various social settings</li><li>Attentive to detail (appearance, hygiene, environment)</li><li>Emotionally intuitive and respectful</li><li>Consistent and dependable</li></ul>Why This Role MattersThis position plays a vital role in supporting independence, confidence, and quality of life.
