 Role Purpose
 
 
 
 
 The Head - Projects is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and commissioning of
 
 
 transmission projects within AESL, ensuring alignment with the organization&rsquo;s goals of
 
 
 operational excellence, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. This role is pivotal in driving AESL&rsquo;s
 
 
 mission to revolutionize energy delivery through innovative solutions, including smart metering
 
 
 and green power integration. The incumbent will lead cross-functional teams, foster a culture of
 
 
 safety and quality, and build strong relationships with government authorities to ensure

 Key Responsibilities:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 &bull; Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, incorporating industry benchmarks,
 
 
 alternative strategies, and contingency measures to ensure project success.
 
 
 &bull; Drive the execution of transmission projects by monitoring progress against cost, resource,
 
 
 and timeline benchmarks, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
 
 
 &bull; Achieve project milestones within approved budgets and timelines by effectively managing
 
 
 financial and operational resources.
 
 
 &bull; Standardize project management processes across locations by implementing robust
 
 
 systems and tools to ensure consistent execution.
 
 
 &bull; Facilitate project start-up activities, including the creation of tailored project organograms,
 
 
 alignment of capex plans, contract agreements, and mobilization schedules.
 
 
 &bull; Foster a culture of safety by enforcing stringent safety protocols and creating a secure work
 
 
 environment for employees and contractors.
 
 
 &bull; Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, including ROW, state
 
 
 administration, police, and forest departments, to secure necessary clearances and
 
 
 approvals.
 
 
 &bull; Conduct regular reviews with engineering and EPC teams to align on project goals, resolve
 
 
 issues, and monitor progress.
 
 
 &bull; Oversee cash flow and cost control measures, ensuring alignment with financial goals and
 
 
 maintaining project financial efficiency.
 
 
 &bull; Implement a robust risk management framework to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate
 
 
 potential project risks.
 
 
 &bull; Drive technological innovation by integrating advanced tools and systems to enhance project
 
 
 efficiency and data management.
 
 
 &bull; Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment
 
 
 while promoting continuous learning and development.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Required Qualifications &amp; Experience:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 &bull; Proven experience of 20-25 years in project management within the power or transmission
 
 
 sector, with a strong focus on large-scale project planning and execution.
 
 
 &bull; Demonstrated expertise in enforcing safety and quality standards, with experience
 
 
 overseeing EPC contractors.
 
 
 &bull; Strong background in engaging with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and local
 
 
 administrations to facilitate project approvals and clearances.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Educational Background:
 
 
 
 
 &bull; B.E./B.Tech. in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
 
 
 &bull; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Years &amp; Type of Experience:
 
 
 
 
 &bull; 20+ years of experience in large-scale EPC project execution within the power transmission
 
 
 sector.
 
 
 &bull; Extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful
 
 
 completion within budget and timeline constraints.
 
 
 Domain Expertise
 
 
 &bull; In-depth knowledge of power transmission systems, including design, construction, and
 
 
 commissioning.
 
 
 &bull; Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in project management and safety

 &bull; Expertise in managing ROW issues, securing forest clearances, and addressing legal and
 
 
 regulatory concerns.
