Accounting Clerk Job DescriptionThe Accounting Clerk will work closely with charter school clients on a wide range of accounting tasks, including&mdash;but not limited to&mdash;payroll processing, accounts payable, grant management, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.The Accounting Clerk will report to the Senior Accounting Specialist.Qualifications<ul><li>Associate&rsquo;s degree in Accounting (minimum requirement) and at least two years of recent, related experience</li><li>Strong experience with QuickBooks, including payroll, accounts payable, deposits, journal entries, and debits</li><li>Proficiency with ADP payroll systems</li><li>Ability to perform complex financial and statistical analyses</li><li>Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills</li><li>Ability to multitask, shift priorities, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently</li><li>Strong analytical skills</li><li>Previous charter or district school accounting experience preferred but not required</li><li>Ability to successfully pass QuickBooks and Excel skills assessments</li></ul>Functions<ul><li>Perform budgetary and accounting functions for charter school clients</li><li>Reconcile monthly bank statements for all bank, credit card, and investment accounts</li><li>Code accounts in accordance with the Uniform System of Financial Records for Charter Schools</li><li>Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to ensure compliance and provide a clear audit trail</li><li>Prepare and deliver accurate, timely reports and financial information as requested by clients</li><li>Analyze and interpret financial data from multiple sources</li><li>Prepare journal entries for financial reporting, annual audits, and internal audits</li><li>Deliver excellent customer service to clients</li></ul>Terms of EmploymentThis is a full-time, hourly position.
