* Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. * Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. * Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. * Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. * Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. * Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes. * Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment. * Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and their families, addressing their emotional and psychological needs. * Supervise and delegate care provided by members of the healthcare team to ensure quality and efficiency. * Engage in continuous professional development and participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. * Respond to code situations promptly and effectively, providing necessary interventions to stabilize patients.<div>
The expertise and experiences you&rsquo;ll need to succeed:</div><div><ul><li><ul><li>Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree upon hire.</li><li>Six months of hospital nursing experience upon hire OR successful completion of the AHWC Graduate Nurse Training Program.</li></ul>
Active Florida RN or APRN license required upon hire.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or RQI upon hire and then renewed quarterly following RQI protocols</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Current NIHSS Certification required upon hire.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
8 hours of Stroke Education within 6 months of hire date, then annually.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
8 hours Hip &amp; Knee Replacement / Spine Education within 6 months of hire date, then annually.</li></ul></div>
Pay Range:
$31.53 - $52.24

Job Description:
Performs and documents accurate initial and ongoing patient assessments, including physical and mental status, and reports appropriate information to the responsible physician. Observes and monitors patient lab work for trends, reports abnormal lab tests, and obtains appropriate interventions. Utilizes clinical data to implement appropriate interventions and documents the plan of care involving the patient, family, and/or significant other. Demonstrates critical-thinking skills when analyzing cardiac rhythms and provides safe, competent care. Provides individualized goal-directed nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of nursing care. Prepares patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries ordered, ensuring proper documentation and communication. Administers medications accurately and appropriately, including PO, SQ, IV, IV PUSH, IVPB, IM, SL, PR, topical, and intradermal. Responds and participates in unit and hospital code situations, utilizing knowledge and experience to treat patients according to BLS and ACLS protocols. Provides competent and compassionate care to patients with pain according to policy and mission. Maintains a safe patient care environment, including following fall risk specifications and ensuring proper use of restraints. Supervises and guides permanent and temporary nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care outcomes. Communicates patient updates to physicians and receiving units, ensuring timely and accurate documentation for patient handoff and safety.
