</p><p>Job Summary:
</p><p>Orders and maintains inventory in all departments within the healthcare facility. Coordinates daily operations of supply chain, including maintenance of appropriate periodic automatic replacement (PAR) levels for items stocked in area/s assigned. Manages and maintains supply stock, as well as assists in documentation, as needed. Works under direct supervision. Coordinates and maintains the supply system ensuring that it operates in a fiscally sound and efficient manner by managing supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposition. Maintains supply inventory within all departments. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact. Ensures that essential medical supplies and equipment are readily available to support patient care and healthcare operations. Trains new supply chain employees on departmental tasks and workflows and supports peer employees in issue identification and resolution. Handles all project assignments specific to improving supply chain workflows. This position is represented by SEIU.

</p><ul><li>Manages resolution report daily to ensure back orders and substitute items are identified, ordered and on-hand to meet supply demands. Coordinates all returned and recalled items in a timely manner and notifies user of back orders and works to identify alternative products. Participates and conducts periodic physical inventories. Initiates and coordinates supply return requests and ensures items are ready for pickup and return. Manages physical resolution of recalls and expired products. Generates purchase orders (POs) to facilitate all inventory needs adhering to patient volume and developing needs. Produces statistical reports as requested. Supports process improvement solutions to optimize inventory, system, and effective cost objectives.
</li><li>Acts as communication liaison between supply chain and all departments. Continuously maintains inventory system tool. Routine par level analysis and recommendations for adjustments. Supports capital requests for purchase orders and follows up on orders as needed. Reconciles with distributors/suppliers at regular intervals. Meets with customers to ensure needs are met. Makes decisions regarding daily priorities for a work group such as coordinating work activities, monitoring adherence to schedules and reporting resource issues. Understands when product changes are needed and when projects are initiated. Ensures updates on new procedures, or physician changes, are implemented. Works with management and others to ensure all needed activities are completed.
</li><li>Ensures orders arrive in a timely manner and follows up to ensure all departments have necessary supply items. Ensures that received items meet quality and safety standards. Collaborates with physicians and leadership to address any quality issues. Maintains accurate records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns. Generates reports to analyze inventory levels and consumption patterns. Assists with data entry into the hospital's materials management software. Communicates with suppliers to place orders, track deliveries, and resolve issues. Identifies opportunities for supplier consolidation or improved contracts.
</li><li>Collaborates with the disaster preparedness team to ensure the availability of essential supplies in case of emergencies. Maintains a contingency stock of critical items for unexpected situations. Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including infection control protocols. Implements safety measures in handling, storing, and distributing hazardous materials. Supports product recall requirements to ensure patient safety.
</li><li>Trains hospital staff on proper inventory management practices. Stays updated on industry best practices and participate in relevant training as needed. Trains new supply chain staff of tasks and workflows within the department. Handles project assignments specific to improving supply chain workflows. Manages project activities associated with the execution product conversions and transitions within the healthcare environment.

Tracks completion statistics.

</li><li>Performs probe audits at the request of compliance leadership to determine extent of identified compliance concerns across the system. Helps monitor and track regulatory audit statistics such as RAC, TPE, PPR and CERT.
</li><li>Provides data analysis and support from a variety of sources, including but not limited to: DA2, Power Insight Explorer (PIE), Compliance 360 and MDaudit. Helps with monitoring RevCycle staff completion of required compliance education in HealthStream.
</li><li>Monitors legislation and regulations involving compliance-related issues, such as patient billing and coding, etc. Communicates the organization's Code of Conduct to all employees, refreshes employees&rsquo; knowledge of the Code of Conduct.

</li><li>Monitors trends in employee injuries and illnesses, conducting regular (at least quarterly) reviews and presenting findings, patterns, and prevention strategies to leadership. Oversees and participates in immunization programs, tuberculosis screening, and substance abuse testing in accordance with organizational &amp; system policy and public health guidelines. Assists in coordinating reasonable accommodations or job modifications for employees with temporary or permanent medical restrictions.
</li><li>Reviews return-to-work documentation for employees recovering from non-occupational illness or injury, securing additional information from providers when necessary to determine clearance. Maintains accurate and confidential employee health records and ensures documentation meets regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
</li><li>Actively participates in performance improvement initiatives, identifying trends and opportunities for prevention and process enhancement based on health and safety data. Attends relevant professional development meetings, trainings, or seminars and disseminates updated practices or guidance to staff and leadership through education and communication.
