<div>Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for providing exceptional service by welcoming our patients and ensuring all check-in and checkout processes are completed. 
<ul><li>
Acknowledge and greets patients, customer, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner</li><li>
Answers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner</li><li>
Schedules appointments</li><li>
Gathers patients and insurance information</li><li>
Verifies and enters patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete</li><li>
Verifies vision and medical insurance information and enters EMR</li><li>
Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and is able to communicate insurance information to the patients</li><li>
Pulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are complete</li><li>
Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed</li><li>
Print and prepare forms for patients visit</li><li>
Collects and documents all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR</li><li>
Allocates balances to insurance as needed</li><li>
Always maintains a clean workspace</li><li>
Practices economy in the use of _me, equipment, and supplies</li><li>
Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>
Basic computer literacy</li><li>
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)</li><li>
Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality</li></ul>

Patient Care Coordinator

<div>Optometric Technicians work in conjunction with the doctors to perform activities involving patient care, pre-testing, post-exam duties, specialty testing, and maintain the doctor&rsquo;s appointment schedule in a manner that delivers a professional, pleasant patient experience. 
<ul><li>
Performs preliminary evaluation of patients prior to exam by the OD, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, etc.</li><li>
Performs verbal interview with patient prior to visit with OD to determine medical issues and reasons for their visit for communication to OD prior to appointment</li><li>
Enters patient information in Electronic Health Records (EEHR)</li><li>
Assists ODs to care for patients in a timely, effective manner, as close to appointed schedule as possible</li><li>
Instructs patients on medical care as prescribed by the doctor&rsquo;s treatment plan and schedules follow up appointments as needed</li><li>
Discusses Lasik with patients and identifies patients interested in Lasik by reviewing patient information forms</li><li>
May be required to schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists, Diagnostic follow-up visits, and other specialty referrals, and complete appropriate paperwork</li><li>
Records and maintains patient records / files in compliance with company, federal, and state policies (HIPAA)</li><li>
Responds to patient&rsquo;s telephone inquiries regarding medication, treatment, problems referring to the OD as necessary</li><li>
Completes proper coding of procedures for payment collection</li><li>
May be required to perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera. Etc.)</li><li>
Corresponds with Doctor offices (internal and external) regarding patient and insurance referrals</li><li>
Supports the OD with patient education as instructed by the Optometrist</li><li>
Documents medical findings and communication between doctor and patient in Electronic Medical Records and assists with clerical duties related to medical documentation (participating practices only)</li><li>
Participates in Practice meetings / projects as requested</li><li>
Ensures that maximum OD utilization occurs through pre-appointment confirmation, daily appointment confirmation, contacting patients from recall listings, partnership with the manager&rsquo;s outreach, etc.</li><li>
Calls all no-shows or cancelled patients to reschedule appointments</li><li>
Performs contact lens insertion and removal classes (I&amp;R) and manages the contact lens trial inventory</li><li>
Performs end of day responsibilities to include opti-schedule wrap-up, end of day checklist, etc.</li><li>
Makes recommendations for efficiencies, processes, etc. which will deliver either quality, cost savings, and / or profitability improvements within the Practice and / or across the organization</li><li>
Performs other duties within the Practice as requested and as time allows</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li>High School or GED qualification</li><li>
Entry level PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment, functioning for the good of the team over the individual</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co-workers and patients</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul><li>Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications</li><li>
Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment</li><li>
Experience maintaining patients&rsquo; records / files per HIPAA regulations</li><li>
Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) preferred but not required</li></ul>

Optometric Technician

<div>Opticians are responsible for selling eyewear and eyewear accessories to patients. They ensure patients are fitted with the right-size frames that fit their needs and lifestyle and dispense lenses with correct prescription and measurements. Opticians are at the heart of our business. Their technical and customer service skills ensure patient satisfaction and repeat business. 
<ul><li>
Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient. Provides patients with a complete understanding of our customized recommendations for products and services</li><li>
Develops own clientele from providing outstanding service and obtaining referrals</li><li>
Keeps current on company/industry products and procedures, manufacturer rebates, and types of lenses and frames available</li><li>
Takes and returns patient calls, updating patients on the status of their order and resolving order issues should they arise. Escalates any issues with the Store Manager, as necessary</li><li>
Retrieves patient charts and electronic health records</li><li>
Assists patients in selecting frames, lens type, and lens treatments including tints and coatings; depending on specific patient needs and facial measurements</li><li>
Educates patients on proper eyeglass and contact lens care</li><li>
Collect eye and face measurements to ensure proper fit</li><li>
Interprets prescriptions written by optometrist and ophthalmologist</li><li>
Creates work orders for lab technicians, specifying information on lenses needed</li><li>
Follows-up on all pending orders. Verifies all orders are within the time guidelines given and informs patients of status if delays occur. Notifies patient when orders arrive from lab/manufacturer</li><li>
Dispenses glasses by inspecting the product, checking for proper fit, adjusting if necessary, and asking for feedback</li><li>
Adjusts eyewear to ensure visual acuity, proper fit, and patient comfort. Using various tools, performs eyewear adjustments and repairs</li><li>
Proficient in using tools such as pupilometers, PD Sticks, lensometers, pliers, wrenches, frame warmers, etc.</li><li>
Regularly communicates with technicians and/or store managers, providing additional patient information, or asking for an order status</li><li>
Inspects the final product ensuring there are no flaws; Cleans and polishes lenses using cloths and solvents</li><li>
Cleans and organizes frame boards, displays, mirrors, work bench, office area, bathroom, and breakroom, maintaining overall cleanliness and visual appeal of the store</li><li>
Restocks retail boards with new merchandize</li><li>
Understands product issues and analyzes any problems. Thoroughly and accurately answers patients&rsquo; questions regarding insurance, warranty, products, materials, services, pricing, upgrades, promotions, etc.</li><li>
Collaborates with technicians, front desk associates, Managers, and Optometrist.</li><li>
Sells miscellaneous products such as cleaners, contact lens supply, sunglasses, safety glasses, etc</li><li>
Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager</li></ul>
Requirements:
Qualifications<ul><li>
High School Diploma</li><li>
Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred</li><li>
Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred</li><li>
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)</li><li>
Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred</li><li>
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination</li><li>
Dependability and punctuality</li><li>
Ability to lift up to 30lbs, bend, kneel, and stand up to 8hrs a day</li></ul>
