The Senior Analyst &ndash; Digital/Commercial Relationship will serve as a key liaison between the AES Clean Energy Digital Team and the Commercial Team, supporting the Digital/Commercial Business Relationship Manager (BRM). This role is responsible for capturing, analyzing, and prioritizing digital demands from commercial stakeholders, with a strong focus on enabling growth, efficiency, and innovation in the energy markets sector.
The Analyst will be instrumental in advising AES CE Commercial stakeholders, shaping high-level digital requirements, building initial business cases, and ensuring that digital initiatives align with global corporate guidelines. This role will also work hands-on with systems such as Salesforce, Allegro, and other energy market platforms, ensuring optimal use and integration to support commercial goals. 
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Commercial Partnership &amp; Demand Management<ul><li>
Conduct workshops with the commercial team to deeply understand business needs, market dynamics, and operational challenges.</li><li>
Serve as the voice of the commercial customer within the digital organization, ensuring their priorities are understood and addressed.</li><li>
Translate business requirements into high-level digital solutions, aligned with AES Clean Energy&rsquo;s strategic objectives.</li></ul></li><li>
Digital Solution Development &amp; Delivery<ul><li>
Develop business cases, solution roadmaps, and proof-of-concept pilots for new technologies.</li><li>
Identify and evaluate market solutions, leveraging tools like Salesforce and Allegro to enhance commercial workflows and decision-making.</li><li>
Ensure energy market system enhancements meet business expectations and regulatory requirements.</li></ul></li><li>
Project &amp; Agile Delivery Management<ul><li>
Apply Agile methodologies to plan, execute, and deliver digital initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams.</li><li>
Collaborate with corporate IT and external vendors to implement, test, and roll out new platforms or features.</li><li>
Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops, retrospectives, and performance reviews.</li></ul></li><li>
Training, Adoption &amp; Support<ul><li>
Provide training to commercial teams to enhance adoption of technology and foster a digital-first mindset.</li></ul></li><li>
Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions with technical teams.</li><li>
Monitor and ensure the quality of digital services delivered to the Commercial team.</li></ul> 
Required Skills &amp; Experience<ul><li>
Industry Knowledge:<ul><li>
Strong understanding of energy markets, commercial operations, and trading/scheduling processes.</li><li>
Experience with Salesforce CRM and Allegro ETRM platforms, with the ability to advise on best practices and enhancements.</li></ul></li><li>
Technical &amp; Project Skills:<ul><li>
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology for delivering digital projects.</li><li>
Experience developing business cases, project roadmaps, and proof-of-concept evaluations.</li><li>

This is a hybrid role based in Houston, Texas, requiring close collaboration with both on-site commercial teams and corporate/global digital teams. The Development Engineer will be responsible for the design and engineering of early stage, conceptual design of large, utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in territories west of the Rocky Mountains and in Hawaii.
The Development Engineer will work on energy and resource modeling, engineering, optimization, and design of utility-scale solar/storage projects. Project designs will be developed, optimized, analyzed and reviewed using software such as PVSYST, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PVCase, excel, etc. The role of the Development Engineer will be to support the development team for RFP submittals, permitting applications, design drafting, and perform technical due diligence to optimize the project designs.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of designing and evaluating early-stage development projects with experience working on AC-coupled and DC-coupled battery systems to accompany solar energy systems. The Engineer will design and optimize systems based on resource availability, EPC pricing estimates from the Estimating team, specified equipment, land costs, substation and gen-tie costs, while working with the relevant teams to refine and develop a project.
The position is at one of AES Clean Energy&rsquo;s offices or fully remote and may include up to 15% travel to project locations and partner offices, including international travel.

Development Support<ul><li>
Energy production modeling for Utility Scale projects in development (PVSYST &amp; Solar Farmer)</li><li>
Battery dispatch modeling for Utility Scale projects in development (Excel)</li><li>
Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability</li><li>
Project pricing and value engineering exercises with Estimating, Development and Commercial teams</li><li>
Create buildable area, preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines working with CAD design team for all types of projects including greenfield development, M&amp;A, and in support of RFPs.</li><li>
Recommend primary project equipment (inverters, PV modules, batteries, trackers etc.)</li><li>
Technical diligence for new project opportunities, assessing accuracy of third-party provided production estimates, site plans, product documentation and meteorological data.</li><li>
Development of technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals, both by self-performing, and coordinating external consultants</li></ul>
Growth and Leadership<ul><li>
Work with Senior Engineer and Manager to improve and develop processes for more accurate and efficient evaluation of projects</li><li>
Work with team to identify changing trends in project development and provide feedback</li><li>
Contributing to innovation and tools development for more efficient design process</li></ul>
Skills and Qualifications
Primary Qualifications<ul><li>
Experience with utility power systems</li><li>
Proficiency with MS Office applications, advanced Excel skills</li><li>
Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field</li><li>
3+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction</li><li>
Proficiency with common renewable energy system modeling tools and packages, such as PVSYST, Solar Farmer, SAM (System Advisor Model)</li><li>
Proficiency with common CAD tools such as AutoCAD</li></ul>

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $91,500 and $109,650/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
