 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Assesses patient needs within an urgent care and primary care setting
 </li>
 <li>
 Appropriately triages patients to differentiate the patient needs
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluates patients in a timely manner, putting patient care above clerical duties
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs a thorough history and physical exam on each patient
 </li>
 <li>
 Creates an individualized, evidence-based plan of care
 </li>
 <li>
 Appropriately consults the supervising or back-up physician
 </li>
 <li>
 Effectively manages private, occupational medicine, and workers&rsquo; compensation patients
 </li>
 <li>
 Follows evidence-based standards for ordering laboratory, radiology and other diagnostic studies
 </li>
 <li>
 Uses evidence-based resources (i.e. Up to Date) for treatment options
 </li>
 <li>
 Orders and prescribes appropriate medications based upon best practice standards
 </li>
 <li>
 Appropriately consults and refers to specialist
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs procedures including, but not limited to, local anesthesia, digital blocks, wound management and closure, foreign body removal, incision and drainage, manages orthopedic appliances, &amp; initial fracture management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Complies with current rules and regulations by the governing bodies of state for
 </li>
 <li>
 Educates patients regarding the disease process and discharge plan
 </li>
 <li>
 Approaches the vocation of health care as an opportunity for lifelong learning
 </li>
 <li>
 Completes training requirements, including CME requirements for specialty
 </li>
 <li>
 Serves as a resource in educating other staff members
 </li>

 Delivering Care in an Economical Manner
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Accurately documenting the patient visit and follow up care to communicate, mitigate risk, and ensure appropriate billing and coding
 </li>
 <li>
 Completes charts within 3 days of shift
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 
 
 Basic Qualifications
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Actively certified by the Medical Board and able to see all patients across the lifespan
 </li>
 <li>
 Licensed provider in the state of practice
 </li>
 <li>
 Does not have an encumbered license
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work well independently evaluating and managing patients
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Friendly and customer-service oriented
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to work well in team environment
 </li>
 <li>
 DOT certification or the ability to be certified within 90 days of employment
 </li>
 </ul>
