Our small law firm is seeking a part-time paralegal/legal assistant to play an important role on our legal team by working a minimum of 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have an associate&rsquo;s degree, at least 2 years&rsquo; experience in family law, a strong work ethic, be organized, and detail-oriented. Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference. Benefits include IRA contributions and paid vacation time.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Establish and maintain relationships with clients, while acting as a liaison between clients and attorneys</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare client agreements, engagement letters and closing documents</li></ul><ul><li>Draft, proofread, and format correspondence</li></ul><ul><li>Assist attorneys in preparing legal documentation and pleadings, including motions, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits</li></ul><ul><li>File documents with the court system, schedule hearings, and maintain interaction with Courts</li></ul><ul><li>Assist attorneys in the preparation of trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses</li></ul><ul><li>Manage attorneys&rsquo; calendar</li></ul><ul><li>Perform administrative duties such as answering telephone calls, responding to emails, processing incoming mail and documents, and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible</li></ul>&bull;Qualifications<ul><li>2 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting</li></ul><ul><li>Detail-oriented and responsible</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with accuracy and meet deadlines</li></ul><ul><li>Have experience with the WI Court&rsquo;s efile system</li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office &ndash; Word, Excel, Outlook</li></ul><ul><li>Have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and customer service</li></ul><ul><li>Have the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion</li></ul><ul><li>Please include at least 2 professional references we can contact (required)</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timeExpected hours: 20 &ndash; 30 per weekWork Location: In person
