JOB PURPOSE: 
The Dental Assistant will assist affiliated dentists and lab professionals in the delivery of life-changing tooth replacement care to patients. Provides chair-side assistance for impressions, dentures, dental implants and oral surgery (applicability dependent on State law and scope of practice regulations). Provides best-in-class customer service to our patients.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
<ul>
<li>Prepare the office to receive patients prior to opening daily</li>
<li>Provide responsive, high-quality service to patients</li>
<li>Provide patient education regarding treatment options, denture styles, packages, aftercare instructions, and pricing</li>
<li>Provide patient information regarding office policies</li>
<li>Consistently record information on the treatment router and patient history forms as instructed by the treating dentist</li>
<li>Consistently select appropriate tray sizes for patients’ impression materials, and assist dentist with patient impressions, upon direction from the treating dentist</li>
<li>Upon direction from the treating dentist, demonstrate ability to prepare wax bites</li>
<li>Upon direction and supervision of the treating dentist, and within legal guidelines of expanded duties, assist dentist with adjustments on dentures and denture insertions</li>
<li>Tally time sheets in an accurate and timely manner and give to FDA for dentist approval and signature</li>
<li>Assist treating dentist with surgery</li>
<li>Take and develop x-rays as needed (has certification, where certification is required)</li>
<li>Consistently sterilize instruments with minimal direction, including impression trays and hand piece burs and wipes down equipment after each patient</li>
<li>Escort each patient to the check out area, with appropriate paperwork</li>
<li>Maintain clean work area at all times; participate in daily cleaning duties, including vacuuming and emptying of waste receptacles, cleaning operatories and instruments</li>
<li>Inventory and re-order supplies as instructed</li>
<li>Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned</li>
<li>Minimal travel may be required for training and/or continuing education purposes</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Educational Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Must possess an active DA and X-ray certification</li>
<li>HS Diploma</li>
</ul>
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>At least one year of hands-on experience assisting with dentures and/or implants</li>
<li>Experience in taking impressions for dentures preferred</li>
<li>Moderate physical activity</li>
<li>Ability to sit, stand, bend and stoop for periods of time</li>
<li>Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally</li>
<li>Work is performed in an interior dental/clinical environment</li>
<li>Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which requires following basic safety precautions</li>
<li>Experience in oral surgery and taking prosthetics.</li>

Dental Assistant

JOB PURPOSE: 
The Dental Assistant/Front Office Assistant is a dual role supporting the dentist and team in delivering quality patient care while also managing front office operations. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down rooms, taking x-rays and impressions, providing post-op instructions, and assisting chairside as permitted by state regulations. Front office duties include answering calls, scheduling, patient check-in/out, discussing treatment and financial arrangements, and managing insurance billing to ensure timely, accurate claims and maximum reimbursement.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
<ul>
<li>Manage phones, scheduling, patient check-in/out, and calendar coordination.</li>
<li>Collect and process payments; handle insurance verification, claims, and financial arrangements.</li>
<li>Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance.</li>
<li>Educate patients on procedures, treatment options, office policies, and aftercare instructions.</li>
<li>Support the dentist during procedures, including oral surgery, impressions, x-rays, and denture adjustments (within state guidelines).</li>
<li>Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and uphold infection control standards.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate patient records, treatment routers, and documentation as directed.</li>
<li>Manage supply inventory, order materials, and assist with office preparation and daily cleaning duties.</li>
<li>Provide excellent patient service to ensure a positive experience and smooth office flow.</li>
<li>Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinical and administrative needs.</li>
</ul>
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma</li>
<li>Active DA and X-ray certification</li>
</ul>
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Knowledge of dental/medical insurance processes, including verification, claims, appeals, and denial management.</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with dental software (Dentrix preferred).</li>
<li>Excellent organization, time management, and multitasking abilities in a high-volume environment.</li>
<li>Minimum one year of experience assisting with dentures and/or implants.</li>
<li>Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as required.</li>
<li>Work performed in a clinical setting with some exposure to hazards; adherence to safety protocols required.</li>

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

</ul>
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Confident and comfortable working with your hands</li>
<li>Good hand-eye coordination</li>
<li>Mechanical ability and/or artistic ability</li>
<li>Comfortable working in a team environment</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while keeping a strong attention to detail</li>
<li>Highly organized</li>
<li>Understanding of OSHA protocol and be willing to cross-train in all areas of the lab</li>
<li>0 – 6 months of experience trimming and pouring denture models preferred</li>
<li>Plaster bench experience preferred</li>
