The position
 
The Project Manager should be based in Aswan and will be reporting to the Country Manager. It is a one-year contract.
 
Background: 
The Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF), an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network, is implementing the APWA project in partnership with GIZ. The initiative promotes community-centered site management of cultural heritage in West Aswan, fostering inclusive dialogue among civil society, government, and scientific actors. The project targets over 1,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries, with a strong focus on gender equity, disability inclusion, and climate resilience.
 
Position Objectives: 
The Project Manager will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of the APWA project. This includes overseeing participatory processes, managing partnerships, ensuring compliance with donor and OHF policies, and delivering all outputs and indicators outlined in the project proposal.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Project Planning and Oversight
 Lead the development and execution of detailed work plans, budgets, and implementation schedules.
 Ensure alignment with OHF’s strategic priorities and donor requirements.
 Supervise project staff and consultants, including the mobilizers and facilitators.
 Community Engagement and Participatory Processes
 Oversee 3 participatory planning meetings to identify and prioritize community challenges.
 Ensure inclusive participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and local leaders.
 Solution Development and Implementation
 Manage the co-solution selection process, including proposal review, budgeting, and stakeholder approval.
 Ensure transparent and fair selection of 5 co-solutions (including 2 gender-responsive and 1 disability-inclusive).
 Oversee implementation and financial settlement of trainings, campaigns, and events.
 Awareness and Capacity Building
 Coordinate 28 heritage awareness sessions targeting diverse community groups.
 Establish and support women’s committees within CSOs; deliver training in leadership, communication, and event planning.
 Facilitate events such as 16 Days of Activism and International Women’s Day.
 Partnerships and Stakeholder Coordination
 Build and maintain partnerships with government entities, private sector, academia, and CSOs.
 Ensure stakeholder involvement in SILs, awareness sessions, and co-solution testing.
 Serve as the primary liaison with GIZ and other donors.
 Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
 
Track progress against all project indicators, including: 
80% of sensitization participants reported increased heritage awareness.
 5 gender-sensitive cooperation measures implemented.
 Inclusive development concept drafted through a participatory process.
 Prepare narrative and financial reports; maintain documentation (attendance sheets, surveys, photos).
 Lead internal learning loops and contribute to OHF’s MEL systems.
 Compliance and Safeguarding
 Ensure adherence to OHF’s safeguarding, gender equality, and disability inclusion policies.
 Apply climate resilience principles across project activities.
 Uphold transparency, accountability, and non-discrimination in all processes.
 
The requirements
 
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: 
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, cultural heritage, development studies, or related field.
 Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in heritage or community development.
 Proven track record in participatory planning, stakeholder coordination, and donor reporting.
 Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
 Fluency in English and Arabic; Nubian language is an asset.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

AKF(P) is seeking a high calibre professional for the position of Programme Officer- Art of Parenting Project reporting to the Advisor, Art of Parenting Health. This will be Islamabad-based position with frequent travel to the project areas.

Background:

Sehat Ka Safar (SKS) is a transformative, multi-sectoral initiative advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), family planning (FP), and gender equality across underserved districts in Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh in collaboration with the UNFPA, the Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan (AKFP) and implemented in partnership with AKDN institutions and provincial health authorities.

The Art of Parenting Initiative (API) is a national level collaborative partnership of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan (AKFP), Aga Khan University (AKU), National Institute of Psychology (NIP) Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), and Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and many other stakeholders.

The initiative comprises of two components:
<ul>
<li>AGHOSH &ndash; targeting parenting for children aged 0&ndash;9 years</li>
<li>PARVARISH &ndash; focusing on parenting for adolescents aged 9&ndash;19 years</li>
</ul>
These manuals are designed to empower parents with essential knowledge and practical skills, supporting the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development of children and adolescents. The implementation model involves Government Provincial and District level stakeholders to train local resource persons and to facilitate them working with parents to promote positive parenting practices essential to children&rsquo;s wellbeing.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Programme officer will be based in Islamabad office and work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside Advisor Health, Director Communication, Grants and Finance, and Administration Departments, coordinating the implementation of the Art of Parenting Initiative (API) project.

1. Purpose of the Position

The position is responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of project activities in alignment with the approved work plan and budget. The incumbent will ensure effective coordination with government stakeholders, district and provincial authorities, and other partners to achieve project deliverables within agreed timelines. The role involves facilitation of meetings, training, reporting, and logistical arrangements to ensure smooth execution of project interventions.

2. Key Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination
<ul>
<li>Assist in preparing quarterly work plans aligned with the approved budget, deliverables, and timelines.</li>
<li>Coordinate meetings with stakeholders, ensuring participation of key government officials by arranging venues, logistics, preparing agendas, and documenting meeting notes with actionable follow-ups.</li>
<li>Coordinate preparations and organization of training for District-based Field Resource Persons in collaboration with provincial and district authorities, including participant nominations.</li>
<li>Liaise with the AKF(P) Administration team to facilitate logistics for training, including venue arrangements, catering, preparation of training and advocacy materials, and travel/accommodation for faculty.</li>
</ul>
Training and Reporting
<ul>
<li>Liaise with training faculty to prepare training reports according to the standard template.</li>
<li>Coordinate with the Administration and Finance teams to ensure timely preparation and submission of expenditure statements, including justifications and supporting documentation in compliance with financial and procurement procedures.</li>
</ul>
Monitoring, Documentation, and Communication
<ul>
<li>Coordinate follow-up with stakeholders during cascade training sessions for parents, ensuring adherence to timelines and consolidation of progress reports.</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation of high-quality progress reports with evidence-based data, in accordance with donor reporting requirements.</li>
<li>Support media engagement and identify appropriate channels for virtual dissemination of API concepts and key messages.</li>
</ul>
3. Required Qualifications and Experience
<ul>
<li>Master&rsquo;s degree in public administration, Education, Health, or Project Management from a recognized university.</li>
<li>Minimum ten (10) years of experience working with public and private sectors, preferably on donor-funded projects.</li>
<li>Proven experience in project planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring.</li>
<li>Experience in Parenting of Children and Adolescents projects, with active engagement of community members, teachers, and health care providers.</li>
<li>Familiarity with thematic areas of Early Childhood Development (ECD), Life Skills-Based Education (LSBE), and psychosocial support in Adolescent Programming will be considered important advantages.</li>
</ul>
4. Core Competencies
<ul>
<li>Strong coordination skills, particularly in engaging provincial and district government stakeholders.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and diplomatically with internal and external partners.</li>
<li>Sound understanding of project management principles, including finance, administration, information management, and monitoring.</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Office and related software tools.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work flexibly and effectively under challenging and high-pressure conditions.</li>
<li>Familiarity with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and its programming approach will be an added advantage.</li></ul>

AKF(P) is seeking a high calibre expert consultant with relevant expertise for a short period to provide technical support to the Art of Parenting Initiative (API).

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The consultant will be Islamabad based reporting to Advisor, Art of Parenting with frequent travel within Pakistan to attend meetings with the stakeholders. The consultant will be responsible to provide support to existing API implementation strategy, training manuals development and enhancing the context specific plan for the engagement of stakeholders and effectively reaching out to the parents. Consultant will coordinate with the stakeholders organizing online and in person meetings to review progress of assignments, compliance with the timelines and providing suggestions for the improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

The consultant will work closely with the AKFP team providing technical support for the preparation of Art of parenting training and Education materials with specific roles to:
<ul>
<li>Coordinate meetings with the AIOU, NIP and AKU to review and ensure quality of the training contents.</li>
<li>Review and suggest revising contents according to local context, relevance and acceptability</li>
<li>Review and revise sensitive content that may not be appropriate</li>
<li>Prepare contents for the endorsement of National Steering Committee</li>
</ul>
Specifically, the consultant will be responsible for the detailed review, provide comments and ensure quality of work on the following documents.

<ul><li>AKU team is preparing parental guides with key messages of Aghosh and Parvarish for the education of parents.</li></ul>
<ul><li>AKU team is preparing operational research design to document the impact of Art of parenting initiative</li></ul>

Time Period:

The national expert will be engaged for the period of 3 months December 15, 2025, to March 15 2026. According to the assigned task and timelines he will be responsible for the detailed review of drafts produced and providing suggestions for the improvements.

Qualification and Experience:
Master&rsquo;s degree in public administration, Education, Health, or Project Management from a recognized university.

Minimum ten years of experience working with public and private sectors, preferably with thematic areas of Early Childhood Development (ECD), Life Skills-Based Education, Adolescent Programing, and Parenting of Children and Adolescents.

Experience of working at the policy level advocacy, curriculum development, quality education material preparations and capacity building work with the public sector at national and provincial level.

Strong coordination skills, particularly engaging provincial and district government stakeholders.

Work with UN agencies on parenting role, child and adolescents&rsquo; holistic development will be considered as an advantage.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and diplomatically with internal and external partners.

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work flexibly and effectively under challenging conditions, including high-pressure or field environments.

Familiarity with the AKDN work would be considered as an advantage.
