To assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering safe, supportive, and therapeutic care to patients with mental health conditions, while ensuring dignity, respect, and recovery-focused support (suggested: The incumbent will support the nursing and multidisciplinary team in providing compassionate, safe, and effective care to patients with mental health disorders. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, maintaining a therapeutic environment, and monitoring patient behavior under the supervision of registered nurses and mental health professionals).</p>
<p>
Role and Responsibilities:</p>
<p>
Patient Care &amp; Support</p>
<ul>
<li>Assist patients with daily living activities (personal hygiene, meals, mobility, and rest).</li>
<li>Support patients in participating in recreational and therapeutic activities.</li>
<li>Provide companionship and observe patients to identify changes in behavior, mood, or risk.</li>
<li>Monitor patients closely for signs of distress, agitation, or suicidal ideation.</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining patient safety through routine checks and observation rounds.</li>
<li>Perform handoff and carry out special assessments as directed.</li>
<li>Identify early warning signs in patients and report any abnormalities to the Registered Nurse immediately.</li>
</ul>
<p>Clinical Assistance</p>
<ul>
<li>Support nurses in administering basic nursing procedures as directed.</li>
<li>Help monitor vital signs and report changes to the supervising nurse.</li>
<li>Maintain cleanliness and safety of patient care areas.</li>
<li>Assist in intra- and inter-departmental patient transfers as needed.</li>
<li>Support nurses in managing patients during emergencies, providing comfort measures, and assisting with CPR as instructed by the nurse.</li>
</ul>
<p>Safety &amp; Crisis Support</p>
<ul>
<li>Assist in managing challenging behaviors and crisis situations under supervision.</li>
<li>Ensure patient safety in high-risk cases (e.g., suicide watch, aggression management).</li>
<li>Observe and report any environmental or equipment-related safety hazards immediately.</li>
</ul>
<p>Documentation &amp; Reporting</p>
<ul>
<li>Record daily care activities and patient observations accurately.</li>
<li>Report promptly to nurses any incidents, unusual behavior, or patient concerns.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with nurses and other healthcare professionals about patient needs and progress.</li>
</ul>
<p>Professionalism &amp; Training</p>
<ul>
<li>Participate in ongoing training on mental health, patient safety, and infection control.</li>
<li>Adhere to hospital policies, patient rights, and ethical care practices.</li>

Required Skills</b></p>

Education, Experience &amp; Competencies</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Diploma/Certificate in Nursing Assistant or equivalent (recognized training institute).</li>
<li>Minimum 6 months of experience, Prior experience in a mental health or hospital setting preferred.</li>
<li>CPR training.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of mental health conditions and patient care.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, observational, and communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work in shifts, including nights and weekends.</li>
<li>Ability to remain tactful, patient and calm in stressful situations.</li>
<li>Adheres to uniform code.</li>
Ability to present self as caring, courteous and polite to patients, their families, and the healthcare team.<br>

1. Position Summary</b></p>
<p>
The Procurement Assistant will support efficient, transparent, and cost-effective procurement and logistics operations under the GAVI Project. The incumbent will facilitate cross-functional coordination to ensure uninterrupted supply of operational (OPEX) items, optimize procurement processes, strengthen supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.</p>
<p>
The role contributes to institutional objectives through improved turnaround time, cost control, documentation compliance, and environmentally responsible supply chain practices.</p>
<p><b>
2. Key Roles and Responsibilities</b></p>
<p><b>
A. Procurement &amp; Sourcing</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Execute procurement of OPEX items in accordance with organizational policies and donor guidelines.</li>
<li>Obtain, analyze, and evaluate quotations to recommend cost-effective and technically compliant purchasing decisions.</li>
<li>Conduct market assessments to identify competitive suppliers and innovative product solutions.</li>
<li>Maintain updated supplier database and ensure vendor prequalification where required.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>B. Supplier Relationship Management</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Liaise with suppliers to build strategic and ethical business relationships.</li>
<li>Monitor supplier performance (quality, price, delivery timelines).</li>
<li>Resolve operational issues and support contract compliance.</li>
<li>Keep abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product introductions.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>C. Process Optimization</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Monitor and improve Purchase Order (PO) turnaround time.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with procurement cycle timelines.</li>
<li>Strengthen internal coordination with user departments for demand planning and forecasting.</li>
<li>Develop and utilize Excel-based tools/models for tracking procurement performance and cost savings.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>D. Documentation &amp; Compliance</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure complete and accurate documentation of procurement transactions.</li>
<li>Maintain audit-ready procurement files in line with internal controls and donor compliance.</li>
<li>Utilize ERP system for purchase requisitions, purchase orders, GRNs, and invoice processing.</li>

<div><b>E. Logistics &amp; Distribution Management</b><div></div><div>Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)</div></div>

<li>Plan and coordinate transportation of goods from Karachi to project locations.</li>
<li>Optimize vehicle utilization to minimize warehousing and inventory carrying costs.</li>
<li>Ensure adequate truckload planning to reduce freight cost and carbon footprint.</li>
<li>Monitor dispatch schedules and delivery confirmations.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>F. Financial &amp; Invoice Control</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes.</li>
<li>Track payments and coordinate with finance department for timely settlements.</li>
<li>Maintain payment tracking dashboards.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>G. Environmental &amp; Sustainability Responsibilities</b></p>
<p>

<li>Identify supply chain activities with environmental impact (transportation, packaging, sourcing).</li>
<li>Propose eco-friendly procurement alternatives and optimized transport planning.</li>

</ul>
<p><b>H. Coordination &amp; Reporting</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Reports to: Senior Manager Supply Chain Manager</li>
<li>Coordinates with: Finance Department, Project Teams, Warehouse Staff, Vendors, and Regional Offices.</li>
<li>Supports institutional procurement planning and reporting requirements.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>3. Required Qualifications &amp; Experience</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or relevant field or experience commensurate with the job role..</li>
<li>Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in procurement and logistics.</li>
<li>Familiarity with ERP systems.</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, dashboards, functional models).</li>
<li>Knowledge of procurement compliance and documentation standards.</li>
<li>Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.</li>
</ul>
