<div>Job Title: Data Engineer
 
Target Start Date: 1st August 
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Full Time, Job Share option available 
Salary Range: &pound;40,000 - &pound;80,000 
Location: Flexile across all esure and Ageas locations 
Data Engineer: We are currently seeking a number of Data Engineer's, at various levels, to join our innovative Data team. You will join a collaborative team of data and AI engineers, scientists, developers, analysts, and architects. Together, you will design and build modern machine learning and AI services that support analytics and improve products across the business.
Experience with PySpark, Python, SQL and DataBricks (or Snowflake) is required for these roles.
Its a chance to work on a very modern tech stack and learn from an incredible team. 
Main Responsibilities as Data Engineer:<ul><li>
Build and support data products within our modern data platform 
</li><li>
Design and deliver solutions with engineers, scientists and product teams 
</li><li>
Develop and optimise data pipelines across the analytics platform 
</li><li>
Integrate data from varied sources with strong quality standards 
</li><li>
Maintain orchestration, monitoring and performance of data components 
</li><li>
Improve engineering processes across the wider data community 
</li><li>
Promote high coding and data practice standards 
</li><li>
Experiment with emerging data, ML and AI technologies 
</li><li>
Partner with architects on data product designs 
</li><li>
Work collaboratively in multi-functional agile squads 
</li><li>
Support ML and GenAI infrastructure and workflows</li></ul>
Skills and experience you need as Data Engineer:<ul><li>
Passion for building scalable, resilient cloud data platforms 
</li><li>
Strong experience with Databricks or Snowflake on AWS 
</li><li>
Proven Python skills, including Spark and Airflow expertise 
</li><li>
Advanced SQL skills and end‑to‑end data modelling experience 
</li><li>
Experience building batch and real-time data integrations 
</li><li>
Hands-on CICD skills with Git, Jenkins or similar 
</li><li>
Ability to ingest, cleanse and structure large, diverse datasets 
</li><li>
Knowledge of Terraform or similar IaC tools 
</li><li>
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is beneficial 
</li><li>
Exposure to production Generative AI is an advantage 
</li><li>
Strong collaboration skills and a proactive attitude</li></ul>

Main Responsibilities as Analytical Engineer:<ul><li>
Design, build and maintain scalable data products within esure&rsquo;s industry-leading data platform</li><li>
Develop and optimise data pipelines, ensuring high-quality, reliable and accessible datasets for analytics and AI use cases</li><li>
Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional agile squads to deliver data-driven solutions, including GenAI applications</li><li>
Integrate and transform data from multiple sources, ensuring adherence to data quality, governance and technical standards</li><li>
Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytics engineering processes, tools and best practices across the wider data community</li></ul>
Skills and experience you need as Analytical Engineer:<ul><li>
Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (e.g. Databricks or Snowflake), ideally within AWS environments</li><li>
Advanced programming and data engineering skills in Python, PySpark and SQL, with a solid understanding of ETL pipelines and data transformation</li><li>
Proven experience in data modelling (end-to-end), including performance optimisation using tools such as DBT and distributed processing frameworks like SparkSQL</li><li>
Experience with CI/CD, version control (e.g. Git, Jenkins) and pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow</li><li>
A collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for building robust, scalable data platforms</li></ul>
