Position </b><b>Summary:</b> AHC is proud to continue its long-standing education programs at Gates of Ballston (GOB), one of our largest and most vibrant communities in Arlington, Virginia. GOB is a diverse, garden-style community with over 400 apartment homes and a centrally located community center that serves as a hub for learning, support, and opportunity. We are seeking a passionate and driven Resident Engagement Specialist in Education to lead our K&ndash;12 afterschool programs, support academic success, and engage families through educational workshops and events. In this role, you will collaborate with AHC&rsquo;s social services team and local partners to ensure students and families have access to the resources they need to thrive.</p><p><b>
This is a full-time, salaried position (40 hours/week), with a typical schedule of 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM to align with afterschool and evening programming.</b></p><p>
 <b>Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>
Oversee afterschool and teen tutoring programs for 20-25 children and 20 teens, respectively</li><li>
Coordinate parent workshops for 5-20 parents and adult workshops for 10-50 adults</li><li>
Plan and execute community-building events for 50-100 residents</li><li>
Implement high-quality programming with a focus on educational and social services</li><li>
Connect residents with community resources and support services</li><li>
Design and facilitate differentiated learning goals</li><li>
Establish classroom management strategies based on trauma-informed practices</li><li>
Build relationships with local schools, libraries, and non-profits</li></ul><p>
 <b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in education (Master&rsquo;s degree preferred)</li><li>
Experience in child development and program management</li><li>
Cross-cultural competency</li><li>
Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends</li></ul><p><b>
 </b><b>Working at AHC:</b></p><p>
The Resident Services Team may work remotely on Fridays. Flexibility is required to meet programming needs outside normal business hours.</p><p>
