Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.</li><li>
Assist with setting up and breaking down for school events and activities.</li><li>
Conduct minor repairs and report any major maintenance needs.</li><li>
Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and that the school remains a safe environment for students and staff.</li></ul>

<div>Position Title: Certified Tutor 
Department: School<div>
Reports To: School Principal 
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</div> 
 
SUMMARY: 
Provides individual and small group tutoring sessions in English Language Arts and/or math. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Engages students in academic activities either in one-on-one or small group settings.</li><li>
Utilizes effective instructional strategies to maximize the students&rsquo;&rsquo; potential for academic progress.</li><li>
Collaborates regularly with administration and teachers to assess the students&rsquo; needs and how best to address them.</li><li>
Evaluates pupils&rsquo; academic growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.</li><li>
Communicates progress regularly with administration, teachers, and parents.</li><li>
Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.</li><li>
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.</li></ul>
JOB SPECIFICATIONS 
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree or higher. 
 
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. 
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 
Valid SC Teaching License or a Retired Teacher. 
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Supervises assigned student 
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS: 
Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and instructional manuals. Ability to provide instruction to students through explanation, demonstration and/or supervised practice. 
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and in the display and interpretation of data. Ability to apply basic concepts of statistical analysis, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 
 
REASONING ABILITY: 
Ability to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems. Ability to supervise students and maintain order in various classroom and instructional activities and situations. Recognizes and follows the appropriate procedures in the &ldquo;chain of command&rdquo; as designated by board policies and/or administrative procedures. 
 
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: 
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. 
 
Ability to operate a personal computer and related software. Knowledge in the methods for developing lesson plans and materials, and classroom activities which stimulate learning. Knowledge of the materials and information which must be prepared for classroom instructional activities. 
 
Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and administration. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with a high level of detail and accuracy. Ability to self-monitor and manage multiple tasks while working individually and with members of a group. Passion for helping students learn and have the knowledge and skills to help student find new ways to look at difficult skills and concepts they do not understand.

Position not on the salary schedule: $34.00 per hour (pending available funds)
