Job Summary
With continued business growth and expanding business initiatives, AirClean Systems, has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Purchasing Agent. Established in 1992, AirClean Systems is the largest North American manufacturer of laboratory safety equipment and forensic containment solutions. We are an international company with divisions in the US and Australia, as well as distributors worldwide. AirClean Systems products are used by major pharmaceutical companies, petroleum companies, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, schools, colleges, universities, and medical institutions worldwide. Many of our products can even be seen in popular television dramas and movies.
The Purchasing Agent will purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
Essential Functions<div><ul><li>
Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services.</li><li>
Select the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.</li><li>
Monitor inventory levels and determine purchase needs.</li><li>
Request cost proposals and negotiate prices in collaboration with the Director of Procurement.</li><li>
Prepare and process purchase orders.</li><li>
Complete occasional cycle counts of inventory with assistance from warehouse staff.</li><li>
Schedule and verify purchase deliveries.</li><li>
Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relations.</li></ul></div>

Required Qualifications<div><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office Products.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and with management to complete tasks.</li><li>
Attention to detail a must.</li><li>
Solid organizational skills.</li><li>
Basic math skills required.</li></ul></div> 
Preferred Qualifications<div><ul><li>
Experience with an MRP systems.</li><li>
Two plus years&rsquo; experience as purchasing agent.</li><li>
Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred.</li></ul></div> 
Accountabilities<div> 
<ul><li>
Established purchasing guidelines and limits are closely followed.</li><li>
Promptly action requests for materials from other departments or sister companies.</li></ul></div> 
Location 
This position will be based at our Creedmoor, NC office. 
Terms of employment
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. 
Hours
The general hours shall be 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday, with an hour break for lunch each day. Two paid breaks are also included. 
Work Environment
Work is usually performed in office and shop environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and/or walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with arms or hands. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 100 pounds. 
Travel
 No travel is expected for this position other than travel between properties.
