In this role, you will be responsible for welding steel components used in the production of high-quality truck bodies, roll-off hoists, and other heavy-duty equipment. You must be able to read blueprints, operate welding and cutting tools, and follow safety protocols to produce consistent, high-quality welds. This is a hands-on position requiring strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and a commitment to craftsmanship.Key Responsibilities:&middot; Fabricate steel bodies, subframes, and components by cutting, fitting, and welding various grades and thicknesses of metal.&middot; Clean, grind, and prepare surfaces for welding to ensure proper joint quality.&middot; Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.&middot; Use tools such as angle grinders, torches, magnetic drills, tape measures, and levels.&middot; Accurately measure and cut materials to spec using saws, torches, or plasma cutters.&middot; Set up and operate welding equipment and fixtures safely and efficiently.&middot; Inspect and verify completed welds for strength, appearance, and accuracy.&middot; Follow all safety protocols, including use of PPE, respirators (may require clean-shaven face), and equipment lockout procedures.&middot; Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and productive environment.&middot; Complete all required documentation such as production reports, time logs, and inspection sheets.&middot; Assist in training new welders or team members as needed.&middot; Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors.Qualifications:&middot; High school diploma or GED required&middot; 5+ years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment&middot; Strong understanding of welding techniques, weld symbols, and fabrication processes&middot; Ability to read and understand blueprints and measuring tools&middot; Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in varying positions&middot; Welding certification preferred (but not required)&middot; Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to quality work and teamworkWork Environment:&middot; Fast-paced manufacturing environment&middot; Exposure to heat, sparks, and fabrication equipment&middot; PPE provided and required&middot; May require occasional overtime or Saturday work depending on production needsBenefits:&middot; 401(k) Retirement Plan&middot; Paid Time Off (PTO) &ndash; Accrual Begins on Day 1&middot; Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance&middot; Health Savings Account (HSA) &amp; Flexible Spending Account (FSA)&middot; Life Insurance Coverage&middot; Employee Referral Bonus ProgramWhy Work at Air-Flo:&middot; Be part of a growing company with strong local roots and national reach&middot; Career advancement opportunities for dedicated team members&middot; Work for a company that values craftsmanship, teamwork, and employee growthAir-Flo Mfg.
