DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul>
<li>Execute laboratory tests as authorized and according to established protocols.</li>
<li>Perform specimen handling, processing, and testing with a focus on accuracy and speed.</li>
<li>Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.</li>
<li>Adhere to quality control guidelines and document all necessary quality assurance activities.</li>
<li>Conduct analyses of various biological samples and report results promptly.</li>
<li>Follow established safety procedures to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.</li>
<li>Assist in training and mentoring junior lab staff, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.</li>
<li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations.</li>
<li>Complete additional tasks as directed by laboratory management.</li>
</ul>Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.</li>
<li>Proven experience working as a Lab Specialist or in a similar laboratory role.</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations, testing procedures, and equipment.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in performing laboratory tests.</li>
<li>Understanding of quality control processes and regulatory compliance in the laboratory setting.</li>
<li>Ability to develop and implement laboratory protocols effectively.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.</li>
<li>Certification from SCFHS is mandatory.</li>
</ul>Experience:<ul>
<li>Previous supervisory experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.</li>
<li>Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) is a valuable asset.</li></ul></div>
