Full job descriptionJob PurposeThe Consultant Adult Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and manage a caseload of Adults through assessment, planning, and implementation of therapeutic interventions (both pharmacological and psychological). They will prescribe treatments or medications to address mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders, following each patient&rsquo;s needs and in alignment with local regulatory guidelines.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Assess and diagnose Adults with a variety of psychiatric and psychological conditions.</li><li>Perform comprehensive developmental and psycho-social assessments including risk and safety evaluations.</li><li>Collect and maintain accurate and detailed clinical records, including input from families, colleagues, and other involved professionals.</li><li>Develop and implement personalized treatment plans involving pharmacological and/or psychological interventions.</li><li>Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, therapists, nurses, and educational professionals.</li><li>Ensure all treatments and care plans are compliant with Department of Health regulations.</li><li>Provide support to families and caregivers, offering education, guidance, and therapeutic support where appropriate.</li><li>Refer patients to external services when required (e.g., in-patient psychiatric care, specialist medical services).</li><li>Monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes, adjusting plans as needed.</li><li>Participate in case reviews, supervision, and multidisciplinary clinical meetings.</li><li>Provide reports or clinical summaries for schools, authorities, or other stakeholders as required.</li><li>Maintain professional development through CPD, workshops, and attendance at relevant clinical seminars.</li><li>Respect and adhere to strict patient confidentiality and safeguarding protocols.</li><li>Support safeguarding of vulnerable adults by following internal and external child protection procedures.</li><li>Perform other relevant duties as assigned in line with service provision.</li></ul>Knowledge / Education / Skills<ul><li>Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with postgraduate specialization in Adult Psychiatry.</li><li>Current license/registration with DOH to practice as a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of adult development, psychiatric disorders in adults, and behavioral therapies.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in working with adults and families.</li><li>Strong understanding of multidisciplinary team approaches and collaborative care.</li><li>Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Minimum 5&ndash;6 years of specialized training in Psychiatry, with focused experience in Adult Psychiatry.</li><li>Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds, schools, and family systems is highly valued.</li></ul>ResponsibilityInformation: Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, accuracy, and security of patient records and clinical data in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.Communication &amp; Interaction: Frequent interaction with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
