Job Goals:
<ul><li>To effectively implement the local school Child Nutrition Program (CNP).
</li><li>To provide food preparation services for Jefferson County Schools.
</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:
<div><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment necessary for performance of job responsibilities.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to follow Child Nutrition Program guidelines and regulations.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to use technology as required to perform job responsibilities.
</li></ul><ul><li>Possess and maintain required health certifications including tuberculin skin test results.
</li></ul><ul><li>Strength, stamina, agility, dexterity, and acuity to perform job responsibilities safely and effectively.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability, agility and stamina to engage in prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, turning, reaching, and repetitive lifting up to 25 pounds.

</li></ul></div>Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
<div><ul><li>Demonstrates support for the school system, its vision, goals and priorities.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assists in preparation and service of food according to the written menu of the day and supervisor&rsquo;s/manager&rsquo;s instruction.
</li></ul><ul><li>Performs food storage; inventory control; equipment cleaning, assembly and disassembly; and related serving and sanitation tasks as assigned.
</li></ul><ul><li>Performs duties in a courteous and professional manner.
</li></ul><ul><li>Operates food service equipment in accordance with established procedures.
</li></ul><ul><li>Serves in job rotation or assists in any CNP activities as assigned including, but not limited to, cashier, server, backup, dish machine operator, food preparation, and cleanup of kitchen, dining area, storage areas, or work area.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintains professional dress and hygiene, suitable for food service work (uniform, hair net/hat, closed-toe shoe with non-skid sole, etc.).
</li></ul><ul><li>Observes proper safety precautions in the kitchen and other work areas.
</li></ul><ul><li>Cooperates with other school system staff members in maintaining high standards in the child nutrition program.
</li></ul><ul><li>Follows written and verbal instructions and communicates effectively with others (CNP staff, vendors, school staff, students, parents, community members).
</li></ul><ul><li>Participates in and promotes in-service training, conferences, and continuing educational programs for self-improvement and for other personnel.
</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrates professional ethics and effective work habits.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law.
</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility.
</li></ul><ul><li>Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.

Erwin Intermediate - CNP Worker

<div>POSITION TITLE: School Bookkeeper
RESPONSIBLE TO: Superintendent
REPORTS TO: School Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
High school education or equivalent with successful experience in working in an office environment. Must have experience in bookkeeping, budgeting, preparing reports, computer operation and working with the public. Must be able to type proficiently, to operate office machines and to work with vendors, principals, supervisors and school staff. Must understand and be familiar with accounting codes and budget requirements for school system.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
1. Maintain all financial records as required.
 
2. Account for all monies and make bank deposits.
 
3. Operate computerized accounting program.
 
4. Maintain purchase order log.
 
5. Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly financial report.
 
6. Establish good audit trail for all school accounts and activities.
 
7. Inform principal of financial status.
 
8. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
 
9. Work with principal and custodian of funds on annual budget.
 
10. Attend local and state workshops as necessary.
 
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB GOAL:
 
To serve as Bookkeeper in a manner which ensures efficient support for the operation of the school&rsquo;s bookkeeping department and to work with the Custodian of Funds in carrying out designated financial programs in the school.</div>

School Bookkeeper (10-month position) at Marbury Middle

<div>QUALIFICATIONS:
 
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
 
2. Minimum of 18 Years of age
 
3. Valid driver license and be insurable for vehicle operation
 
 
JOB GOAL: Stores, ships and receives materials and supplies
 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
1. Maintains a clean, orderly warehouse
 
2. Unloads and stores materials being received by the warehouse
 
3. Loads and delivers materials and supplies
 
4. Takes inventory
 
5. Completes all paperwork as required
 
6. Lifts
 
7. Drives standard vehicles
 
8. Performs other related duties as assigned
Duty Days: 240
Salary Range: According to Madison County Schools Salary Schedule. Actual salary will be determined by rank and experience. Current employees with questions regarding step placement on the salary schedule should contact the Personnel Department.

Qualification:
 <div><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting required.

</li></ul><ul><li>Strong knowledge of the Harris/NexGen Accounting System.
</li></ul><ul><li>At least three years supervisory experience.

</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare financial reports annually and at other times as requested by the local school superintendent, the local board of education, and other agencies.
</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare reports as required by other agencies.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain an adequate system of internal controls including property and inventory accounting.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain a sound system of cash management.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain a sound accounting system in the individual local schools.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain a system of contracting and purchasing procedures.
</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and any amendments as appropriate.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain the financial operations of the child nutrition program and other special programs in accordance with state and federal requirements.
</li></ul><ul><li>Carry out assigned responsibilities in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and with applicable rules and regulations.
</li></ul><ul><li>Perform other duties as may be assigned to the position by law, by the local school superintendent and local board of education, and by rules and regulations of the State Board of Education and the local government.
</li></ul><ul><li>Attend board meetings and report to the board as directed by the Board of Education and Superintendent.
